Fic in a Box Letter
Sep. 2nd, 2024 03:30 pmI'm CousinShelley at AO3.
Please don't feel constrained by my prompts. I ramble about what I love and offer a lot of ideas mostly because it's fun for me. The ideas are there if you want one.
And if a fandom has fewer prompts and less rambling than some others, that doesn't mean I love or want it any less.
DNW Exception: For all fandoms where I opted in to mediums that include things in first or second POV (emails, letters, journals, etc.), you can safely ignore my DNW for those POVs. I forgot to mention that in my sign-up.
Things I Like
- Friendship, found families, loyalty, love, deep emotional connections, devotion, displays of affection and respect
- Third person POV
- Flirting, pining, UST and especially getting together fic
- Possessiveness
- Missing scenes and fix-its, as well as case-fic and plotty stories
- Protectiveness and characters sacrificing their own comforts to help others
- Mutual pining with a happy ending, unrequited love finally realized
- Hurt/comfort, especially after a nightmare, tending wounds, caring for them when they're ill or injured, hovering after something traumatic and trying to take their mind off things
- Tropes like only one bed and every other possible bedsharing scenario, fake couple/marriage leading to the inability to keep hiding feelings, forced proximity and bonus if there’s peril
- First kiss, first times, first realization of feelings
- Humor, snark and banter, laughing and joking with each other
- Happy or at the very least ambiguously hopeful endings
NSFW Likes:
- I like stories with no sex, fade-to-black, or full-on smut, so write whatever level you prefer.
- I do like at least as much if not more focus on the emotions as on what body part goes where or what position people are in.
- Porn with feelings and emotional or romantic sex
- Dubcon when requested
- Desperate kisses and one or both partners overwhelmed with passion and feelings
- Manhandling and displays of strength, up against the wall sex
- Kneeling (any reason but especially for oral sex or to kiss knees or thighs or anything like that, grand)
- Penetrative sex, oral sex, fingers, frottage, mutual masturbation or one watching the other
- Naked and half-naked or one clothed and the other naked, basically any combo of clothed/not clothed
- Necking, petting, face and neck and body stroking, kissing and/or sucking or licking pretty much anywhere
- I really like up against the wall, taken from behind, and one riding the other, but any positions are fine
- Thank god you're/we're alive sex
- One character being suddenly so overcome with feeling and desire for the other they kiss them and initiate things out of the blue, like they can't wait another second--love those big music swell moments
- When requested or present in canon, hair-pulling or ass-slapping in the heat of the moment
- With appropriate pairings, like vampires, blood drinking and/or licking blood off the other’s mouth, face, neck, etc. can’t go wrong.
Do Not Want (DNWs):
I have exceptions and qualifications for DNWs in certain cases and will mention those specifically in my requests.
- Anything related to COVID19 or politics
- AUs except canon divergence
- Major character death, disabling or fatal illness or injury
- Self-harm and suicide
- Unhappy or bleak endings
- Script format/only dialogue
- 1st and 2nd person POV (except in mediums that require it)
- Original character or unrequested character POV
- Unrequested gender and sexuality headcanons
- Cruelty to animals or animal death
- Infidelity and friend/partner betrayal
- Holiday stories (Halloween is the exception)
- Unrequested crossovers or crack fic
- Speculative elements (ghosts, aliens, sex pollen) in non-speculative canons
- Kidfic, pregnancy or birth of any kind
Sex-Related DNWs:
- Non-con
- Underage
- BDSM, D/s and/or consent negotiations
- Generic dirty talk, porn film dialogue during/about sex, calling someone slut, whore or other names
- Mommy/Daddy kink
- Sex toys
- Sexual pain and torture, hitting, suffocating, dehumanization, humiliation, even if consensual
- Body secretions or wastes, spitting, and come play. (Come is fine, even a brief description, but please don’t focus on it. Sweat is fine, and so is blood in vampire and horror canons.)
To clarify on the serious illness or injury, referencing canon trauma is fine but please don’t give anyone a non-canonical serious physical or mental condition. Injuries and illnesses that can heal are fine, like someone getting shot or having the flu or broken bones.
Late Night with the Devil
- Jack Delroy
- Jack Delroy & Gus McConnell
- Christou & Jack Delroy & Carmichael Haig
- Jack Delroy/June Ross-Mitchell
- Jack Delroy/June Ross-Mitchell & Lilly D'Abo
- Jack Delroy/Madeleine Piper
Opt-ins:
I'd enjoy anything from write-ups and reviews about June Ross-Mitchell's book, to magazine and newspaper articles about Jack, the show, or Lilly and the cult. Jack's journal entries, or anyone else's, psychological reports for post-canon Jack, write-ups about the Grove, basically anything related to canon.

This movie nailed the aesthetic, attitudes and some of the cheese of 70s talk shows, so I'd have loved it for that, but then it included things like Bohemian Grove and James Randi with a wink and different names and did such a good job of never quite letting you decide whether you knew exactly what was going on.
I'm really fascinated by the idea that Delroy made a devil's bargain for fame, because he clearly didn't get what he wanted. He'd be infamous as a murderer, sure, but if people at the Grove knew that their deals were likely to be twisted that way, there'd be a lot fewer deals being made. And it's a lot more interesting to me that the deal wasn't cruelly twisted into making him famous in a way he clearly didn't want but that something went wrong at some point. I feel like Jack might have been smart enough to ask specifically to be the top-rated nighttime talk show host and not just make some amorphous wish for "fame" that could be fulfilled by what happened.
Pick any time or place. Older show segments, a fix-it or a different ending (it can still be bad), post-canon shows or events, backstory, expanding the show that's shown in the film, something set at the Grove. I'll enjoy pretty much anything.
DNW Exception: I'm waiving my major character death (except for Jack - please don't kill him) and bleak ending DNW for this fandom. Anyone but Jack is fair game, and things can end up as bad or worse than in canon.
Prompts:
- Why did the deal go so wrong? Did he fall short on his end of the bargain and end up punished for it rather than finally beating Carson legitimately and becoming the biggest talk show star? I'd love to see an exploration of how the whole thing progressed and why it ended the way it did.
- I love the idea that when Jack made his deal, he didn't knowingly and willingly understand that the price would be his wife's life. I got the sense that he truly adored her, even though he took up with June pretty quickly (or maybe had been with her before Madeleine died). When did he understand what had happened? Did he try to get out of it before she died to save her? Did he never put it together? How long was he in denial? How much of the deal did he understand?
- Maybe he made the deal knowing the stated price but not really believing it and just playing along because of the desire to hobnob with powerful star-making people, and then having to deal with the consequences and regret.
- I can also see a great story coming out of him knowingly making the deal (even though my heart wants him to not have known it was real). If he knowingly traded his wife for fame, was it a marriage for appearances he wanted out of it to be with June or just to be free, so he readily agreed? Did he expect it would be sudden and quick rather than her having to suffer so much? Was he offered a can't-say-no deal where he had to choose the lesser of two or more evils, and Madeleine dying that way was the best option?
- What happened during the six months he stayed off the air? Was that something calculated as part of his rise to fame, was it mostly mourning, or something else?
- I loved the nod to James Randi (of whom I've been a lifelong admirer) and his million-dollar challenge. I'd love anything exploring Haig's history on the show with Jack and Gus. Previous segments, behind-the-scenes stuff, or if you want to lean into Haig's hypocrisy at the end wanting to go to the Grove, Jack getting Haig invited and taking him there and being all kinds of conflicted about it would be great.
- I'd also enjoy an alternate ending where nobody dies and Jack finally hits #1 in late night. Because of this he's expected to keep going to the Grove and the cost of continuing his fame has to be dealt with. Bringing others in, like maybe Haig, could be part of that. Does he know he paid for this with Madeleine's life at this point? Is he planning to reveal everything to an audience in some kind of revenge? Is he supposed to use his show to help demons find victims in his audience? There are a lot of ideas to explore here. Does Gus know something's wrong? Is Madeleine there where only he can see her, taunting him, encouraging him, making him miserable or making him want to burn everything down?
- Was Jack used as part of another deal to kill Lilly and set right what went wrong when she escaped? Or maybe she does die on the show, but it's more an accidental or self-defense, she attacks Jack and it's not his fault, and that starts a path of demonic influence for his show that he tries to escape from.
- I'd love to see how he and June met and how the whole idea of her bringing Lilly onto the show was hatched. Who orchestrated it, or was it a completely chance encounter? Was part of his bargain (knowingly or not) bringing her and the demon to his show, and after they met they just hit it off? Was she supposed to replace Madeleine and give demons access to both Jack and his audience? Any of their history would be great. I'd also like to see more of him and Madeleine before and after the Grove. Did she suspect that her illness had anything to do with it?
- The mass hypnosis angle and the trance-like states, especially Jack's at the end, leave room for so many possibilities. How much of the entire movie was real, and could some of it, including the ending, have been only an illusion to show Jack the many ways his life could go if he didn't play ball with the Grove elite? Another idea would be what happens afterward? Do the Grove elites and dark forces swoop in to make things disappear and keep Jack from suffering any consequences? How much of what he thinks happened does he discover was an illusion later, including deaths? An exorcism on the show where the demon's driven out of Lilly (maybe into someone else) without all the murder (or a little less of it) could be fun.
- Maybe he was offered the deal and turned it down, and all hell's breaking loose because of that? Maybe bringing Lilly on the show is some sort of mixed-up plan to make a deal with that demon for revenge against the people who hurt his wife (and maybe he doesn't firmly believe it's possible but he's desperate).
- Anything drawing on the lore of the cult and their rituals and why getting rid of Lilly in this particular way would be great too. I love the idea of dark forces manipulating everything and all the machinations behind that, especially with Jack thinking he's doing all the decision-making and that it has nothing to do with (or little to do with) his trip to the Grove.
- I'd love anything to do with any of the characters on the show too. I loved Gus, he seems like such a sweet guy who was genuinely concerned about the bad things happening. Anything with him and Jack, either on the show or behind the scenes would be great. Christou being on the show before or encountering Jack outside it (at the Grove?) would be fun. Another show with Christou and Haig, or backstage discussions, maybe the three of them at a Hollywood party, or if Christou doesn't end up in the hospital and the show ends without all the death, what happens afterward? Christou doing something Haig can't debunk live on the air with Jack mediating could be fun too.
The Endless
- Aaron/Justin
- Aaron/Hal/Justin
Opt-ins:
The character's journals, letters or any personal documents would be really interesting, as would transcripts from any of the recordings at the camp. It would be interesting to see journal entries about the same event that completely contradict each other, making the characters question the nature of their reality.

I've watched this movie and Resolution enough times that you should feel free to use any characters and/or references from either that you want to. I love how the creepiness and mystery build with implication and lack of information rather than spelling everything out, so I don't need hard answers about anything plot-related.
I'd enjoy any exploration of the codependency between Justin and Aaron. Justin has clearly always taken care of Aaron, and he has such strange ways of protecting him, like telling him that all the men in the cult are castrated and that Anna is a pedophile who paid Aaron too much attention when he was little. The sexual nature of so many of his lies and exaggerations is interesting. He could lie about anything, so why the sexual focus? Is it because he's sexually attracted to Aaron and trying to suppress that?
Was everything okay until Justin started to worry that Aaron might be interested in someone else in the camp, and leaving was partly prompted by him wanting Aaron to himself? Or did he want that and worry that Hal or someone else might realize his feelings for his brother and shame him, so they left?
What's Hal's deal with how he looks at the brothers, especially Justin. I've love to know more details about what's behind his tense but obviously caring relationship with Justin.
Even with the darkness of the film's themes, please end it with the brothers together (or working toward that goal) with at least a spark of hope for the future.
DNW Exception: I'm waiving my DNWs of major character death, as long as it's temporary until they loop again, and self-harm/suicide, as long as the suicide is to reset a loop.
Prompts:
- Justin had great reasons to take Aaron and leave (I mean, it is a cult waiting for an alien/entity to take them away, and all), but a hint of his jealousy or possessiveness factoring into it makes it even more interesting to me.
- Maybe Hal or someone else figured out how Justin felt about Aaron and didn't discourage him because when the cult members came of age they all shared more than beer and it would be accepted. Maybe Justin didn't want that for Aaron because he hated the thought of anyone else being with him. Maybe Aaron was jealous of Justin's relationship (innocent or not) with Hal or someone else and acting out, so they left. Maybe Aaron was supposed to be with Anna because the cult said so or something, and Justin didn't want that.
- If you want to set something after the film, do they wake up back in the camp one day and have to leave all over again? Do they somehow figure out they're in a time loop that may go back even as far as the car accident? Does Justin wonder if they're dead and in some time-loop purgatory and question reality altogether? Is being out of the camp the dream and his nightmare of being stuck there his reality? Does the entity send them messages beyond the video of the cult saying goodbye?
- Aaron dies in the camp and Justin has to push into a time loop to save him. He can get through loop once, rescue Aaron, and Aaron dies again as long as it ends with the clear indication that Justin’s going around again, and he knows eventually he’ll get it right. Alternately, Justin dies and Aaron has to save him in the same way.
- Any missing scene would be great, whether between the brothers or dealing with one pining for or being jealous or possessive of the other. Maybe when Hal takes Justin to show him the equation, Aaron gets jealous because he thinks one or both want to be with the other. That jealousy works for Aaron/Justin or it could lead to the three of them being together.
- Maybe Aaron knows Justin wants him and even though they're both conflicted, he likes it and flirts extra hard with Hal to try to push Justin to admit it or show it more openly. Or Justin does the flirting in the hopes of getting a reaction from Aaron. They don't communicate well with words, so these things fit with their characters, IMO. And it works for just the two of them or the three. I'm okay if jealousy is what eventually leads to the poly relationship as long as Hal isn't treated like a third wheel by either brother.
- The entity likes to send them things. What if it sent Justin photos or video of Aaron having sex with someone else? Hal, another cult member, or a total stranger? Justin hides that he knows but seethes with jealousy and hurt (and guilt for wanting his brother), and when they have a confrontation about it, it turns out that the images are the fantasies Aaron has about Justin with other people plugged in. Maybe pre- or post-film the entity sends Justin video where Aaron is talking to him through it and confessing that he wants him, maybe while touching himself or something. Doesn’t Justin believe it’s real or doubt it? What happens? There are so many possibilities in this universe.
- The entity makes it clear that if Justin doesn't have sex with Aaron, someone else is going to because it’s going to make that happen whether Aaron wants it or not (and maybe it’s someone Aaron’s afraid of, or dislikes). So Justin's essentially forced into sleeping with him while secretly wanting that anyway (and Aaron wanting it too, deep down), and both think the other is probably horrified, then SURPRISE, they're not (after plenty of angst, of course). This can be while in the camp, or maybe even after they’re out the entity still has a hold on them.
- Justin and Aaron get separated into different zones in the camp. They get desperate and maybe even pray to whatever force is causing it to reunite them, making promises and bargains, and maybe getting messages from the entity about what it wants them to do in exchange for being together again. One or both can know about that, and it can be anything from something fairly innocent like smoking the red dope or revealing secrets to each other to sexytimes.
- What if one has to watch the other have sex with someone else, maybe in some cult ritual where others are watching or just with the audience of one brother. It can be to entice the other to finally act, or as a punishment because the entity knows he wants his brother and did something to piss it off. Like one has to do this, but if the other one stops it and does it instead, that’s fine too. Justin in particular throwing Hal or somebody off Aaron and finishing the job seems like a good idea. Or maybe they have to have sex in front of the others, each thinking the other’s horrified (until later) but it’s that or face the entity’s wrath.
- Maybe one of them gets taken and put back without his memories (temporarily - I don't want permanent amnesia) and the other brother has to keep him near and try to help him remember and understand what’s going on, and maybe deal with some intense attraction since the amnesiac doesn’t have those brotherly feelings yet.
- The entity (or something/someone else) sex pollens one of them to the point he can’t stop touching and trying to have sex with the other? Or both/all three are sex-pollened.
Scanners
- Darryl Revok/Cameron Vale
Opt-ins:
The Life Magazine Darryl shows Cam makes me think magazine articles and ads about Ephemoral, Dr. Ruth, ConSec, or, you know, somebody's head exploding, could be interesting. Journal entries, scientific documents about scanners, and something like Darryl's psychological records would also be interesting. Darryl presenting some of Dr. Ruth's papers to help convince Cameron would be great, for instance.

I saw this movie when it was new and immediately loved the horror and implications of the scanner/mind control premise. Seeing these two for a few minutes in their only scene together at the end was all it took for me to love it for other reasons.
You've got Cam looking like a snack on the couch, where someone had to have carried him and put him down (Darryl, let's say). Then Darryl's first words to him, "Sleeping beauty awakes" and all the other (potentially) suggestive dialogue about how he's going to be with him forever, and brothers should be close. I rewatch just that scene every now and then for fun, even though I like the whole movie. Michael Ironside carries it with an intensity like he's doing Shakespeare.
Here's that scene.
All the things Darryl says to Cam and his easy intrusion into Cam's personal space are so great. He's been counting on Cam for years, and his sincerity in wanting him to understand really works for me, even though he's obviously got a hair-trigger and is a bit unhinged (I like unhinged in a character, apparently). Pointing out how he's watched over him, protected him, tried to guide Cam to him, and protesting "never you" when Cam said he sent men to kill him. The whole "nobody has tried to protect you more than me" speech. Oh, yep.
When Cam resists his ideas and Darryl drops down in front of him (*yodels*), asks Cam to tell him he's not going to betray him like all the rest, and it's such a great moment. The more powerful brother literally crouched or on his knees in front of the younger he wants to take his side.
The way he looks at Cam through this whole scene is amazing. Sometimes it's as if the director said, "Okay, now look at him like you want to fuck him or eat him, either's good. And action!"
While I would enjoy sexytimes between them, whether physical or mental or both, it's not required for me to enjoy the story. The pining and fucked-upness of the mind control aspect, and Cam maybe starting to give in a little and feel something, would be enough. But I do also really like the idea of Darryl at least being handsy with him (touching his hair when he's got a Scanner headache, a neck massage while griping at him, casual touches, etc.). and maybe Cam being touchy once he starts to feel something. Also, Darryl starting out angry and defensive, or the way he is, and slowly softening and relaxing the more he's around Cam.
Prompts:
- I'm not that interested in a story where they're permanently bodysharing after the canon ending, but temporary bodysharing while the other is unconscious or in whatever state they would be in while their essence is elsewhere would be great. And if Darryl's sharing Cam's body briefly and in control, how could he resist touching the body he's been desiring for so long? Or flip it with Cam inside Darryl instead. What happens?
- I want Darryl to actually care about his brother, not just see him as a means to an end or a tool. I think that actually fits canon. I want Darryl to want Cam to want to stay with him (hums the Cheap Trick song) so much that he doesn't try to absorb him, and he can be as manipulative and as fucked-up about that desire as someone like Darryl would be.
- Darryl not noticing Chekhov's paperweight while Cam was fondling it was actually a terrible choice. Surely someone with Darryl's brain magics and working eyeballs could see that coming a mile away. I like takes on that idea. Is he so used to being betrayed by everyone that he expected it and didn't bother to prevent it, wanting to give Cam every opportunity and every second to change his mind? Darryl was the first one to touch it, after all. Did he do that intentionally, waiting to see if Cam would grab it? Did he think he'd be able to convince him and it wouldn't happen? Feel free to change it so that the blow doesn't happen and/or explore Darryl's thoughts about it.
- I see Darryl as someone wounded early on through no fault of his own who sees "normals" and pretty much everybody else as the enemy. He stated that everyone had betrayed him, after all. What would someone like him do if when he asked Cam not to betray him, Cam didn't? Instead of belting him, what if Cam says he isn't sure what to believe or do, which seems in-character and gives Darryl a chance to win him over? If Cam actually starts to show any kind of trust in Darryl, how does this man who has always had to take loyalty by force react to that?
- I'm good with dubious consent where Darryl controls much of things, including getting inside Cam's head and manipulating him that way, to actual tenderness and caring (particularly if Cam decides he's going to try to help his brother see another way and develops some feelings).
- I don't think Darryl would have guilt about incest - he'd probably see them as two gods among men doing what they want - but it's fine to have Cam feel guilt for any feelings or acts between them, as long as it's not going to stop him (in the story or implied for later). Darryl being touch-starved (at least by someone who actually cares) and then overwhelmed when his brother gives in to him or shows some tenderness would be great too. Or Cam's the one touch-starved.
- Darryl wins without absorbing Cam and ensures that Cam realizes that he could make Cam do anything he wanted like a puppet on a string. But he wants Cam to want to be there and to want him back. Maybe he'd go as far as angrily kissing him like he's going to go farther, a little groping, make Cam think he’s going to use force, but he stops short. And I’m okay with dubcon as long as he knows Cam does actually want what’s happening and it isn't non-con. Darryl would know what Cam really wants, after all, and he would absolutely point that out.
- A canon divergence where Darryl finds Cam before Dr. Ruth and takes him in to teach him how to control his abilities as he slowly reveal everything to him. And if he uses a little mind control here or there, it's probably for Cam's own good, right? Maybe he seduces Cam who's fine with it and doesn't learn they're brothers until after, with the guilt that might come along with that while still being unable to resist.
- Darryl just posing as a stranger out and about keeps making sure Cam notices him and spends time watching him while he puts sexy thoughts about him in Cam's head, hoping to eventually seduce him. This would work before or after Dr. Ruth has contacted Cam. Or after they meet, Darryl can do that to show Cam how great they could be together. In any scenario, Darryl uses his scanner powers to arouse Cam so much he comes untouched. He can be aware of the manipulation, Darryl can be within his view, or Darryl can be watching from afar.
- He has to have some big feelings or a little compassion after learning that the patient he saw who'd tried to drill a hole in his head in the old footage was his brother.Darryl's scar in the middle of his forehead is a great place for a surprisingly tender kiss (even if it's Darryl imagining it and sending it to Cam and accidentally revealing how much he just wants to be cared for). Or it can happen after Cam has come around to caring about him even if just a tiny bit. Cam even just touching it at some point and showing concern or touching Darryl's hair in a caring way would be great.
- Cam pretends to be more controlled than he is because he wants to try to convince Darryl that they should forge a different path and be heroes rather than villains with their powers. I'd like to think Cam might try to save him and bring him around from the dark side, and if not, stay there to try to sabotage the worst of his plans from the inside while wanting to protect him, too.
- Cam realizes that Darryl wants him as more than a brother and uses that to seduce him to try to gain an advantage but ends up with feelings. Especially if he tells himself he's only getting down with his brother to protect himself or Kim or humanity but he also knows he wants it too.
- Maybe at the end of the film, Darryl's only trying to show Cam that he can absorb him and goes further than he intended, and Cam has a mind break that causes Darryl to stop and realize what he's done, so he takes care of him to get him through it.
- Temporary amnesia in Cam at any point during the film or after the end when Darryl wins could be great. Maybe it was unintentionally caused by what Darryl was trying to do. If Darryl takes care of him after, he could lie about all kinds of things to get Cam on his side, and in his bed. When Cam remembers who they are, I don't mind him being horrified at first as long as he comes around to it eventually.

Fandom-specific DNWs:
If the story is shipping Peter/Mark and not just an ensemble story, please don't have Peter dead at any point. I'm okay with him being dead at the start of a different story because it's canon, with later flashbacks to before his death. That doesn't violate my character death DNW. But if it's a Peter/Mark story or he's alive in the beginning, please keep him alive.
I love Severance so much. Feel free to include any characters.
Prompts:
Irving & Helly & Dylan & Mark
I loved them starting to really trust and rely on each other. They were so individual in the beginning of the season, and by the end the body language and even how close they stood together was so different. Give me all the friendship feels and deepening bonds and affection. (I really like Helly/Mark too, so you can include their growing attraction if you want, but please don't make the ship the focus of the story.)
- Any situation where they're working together would be great. Either post-S1 with them trying to fight their way back to be able to break free, or in some situation before the ending of S1, like one distracting Milchik while the others try to find files or information, or some plan that they're forming. Them scheming, planning and doing just about anything would be great.
- I'd enjoy more of Dylan's conspiracy-theory-like bent on speculating what it's like outside, and more lore and legends the employees talk about. The O&D <> MDR massacre story and how it played out was great, so anything along those lines, whether it's something clearly perpuated by Lumon or some idea Dylan or any employee in MDR got into their head and spun into a tale.
- Post-Lumon (and/or post-severance), do MDR meet? Do they know each other or start to remember things? Have they been integrated and see each other on purpose or accidentally, and what happens? It would be fun to see their different personalities interacting outside Lumon as a friends group, even if part or most of what keeps them together is trauma bonding. It would be fun to see that shift into true friendship, with their whole selves too.
- One of the MDR employees isn't at his or her desk. What do the rest do? I made a similar suggestion for the pairings, with one thinking the other is in some kind of danger, so they go in search of them. I'd like to see that with MDR too. What do they do, and what are they worried has happened? From asking Milchik to looking for clues, that could be fun (and worrisome, if it's set post S-1 or when they were starting to plan). You can put the characters through hell while they're worried and looking for the person, just please let them find the person and it all be okay in the end (even if bad Lumon things are looming in the future).
- Heck, just a day in the life at Lumon, in or out, would be great. Anything exploring things we didn't get to see!
Mark/Peter:
I would love to see flashes of Mark and Petey's friendship at Lumon, how they got so close and how they got closer than the show had them get. I'd love to see anything from secret pining to stolen moments at work to Petey and/or Mark remembering bits and pieces of those things while Peter is staying in Mark's basement.
- Lots of possibilities while Petey's in Mark's basement. Did they have some kind of an affair when at Lumon? Did they want to? Does Petey remember the affair or the desire between them, or just flashes now and then? They could have had a thing before or not, but something's developing between them, and maybe that pushes against Mark's memory. Does he have dreams or flashes from his innie? Maybe Mark realizes he's trustworthy and not crazy and starts to question his beliefs about Lumon.
- Pete tells Mark they were lovers, and Mark thinks Pete's out to scam him or something, so Peter slowly convinces him by showing him that he knows exactly how Mark like to be kissed and touched reveals he knows other non-sexual secrets and quirks he has.
- Hurt/comfort can never go wrong. In caring for Peter, Mark starts to have feelings that seem oddly familiar and Peter reveals that they were lovers, or really anything that leads them to get together in this kind of a scenario. One of them comforts the other after he has to do the weird apology ritual or some other thing at Lumon.
- Mark accidentally sees Peter masturbating at work and that starts something between them. Or vice versa and Pete catches him. Or any kind of situation where feelings or desire are revealed, even if it's innocent.
- Pete is in a much better state than in the show and starts running into Mark on purpose and trying to attract his attention without Mark knowing he's from Lumon, and it works. He wants Mark, and he also wants to gain his trust so he can convince him to get away from the place.
- Petey lives and finds Mark when his innie is at the book party and they have an emotional reunion.
- Anything that plays into how touch-starved innies must feel, whether a scene of them at work or Peter trying to make Mark remember on the outside. It doesn't even have to be sexual (though sexual is fiiine, and could be something like Pete touching Mark's face, maybe like the first time they did anything together in the hopes it will break something loose, and it does. Or a first touch while at Lumon, the first time it was something beyond friendly pats and joking around.
- One thinks the other is in some kind of danger at Lumon and tries to find and help them, or they team up to try to find information or help someone else.
Burt/Irving:
Any moments between Irving/Burt, from stolen moments at Lumon to somehow seeing each other outside it and being drawn to each other in some way would be great. Any canon divergence that keeps Burt there or gives one of them (or both) memories outside, or even Burt being drawn in to the scheme with the rest to figure out what's going on and what the outside is like would be great.
- I'd love to see a continuation of the end of S1 and how that pans out when Irving gets his memory turned off. Is there some sense between them that they should know each other? Do they all figure out what's happened, or is just Irving who must realize, given all his research on Lumon? Does Irving have time to say anything before his outie takes over?
- Burt doesn't retire, so what are their future moments alone at Lumon like? Or they have another moment alone before Burt retires. More of the kind of things we already got!
- Their outies meet somehow and are drawn to each other, and maybe knowing each other that way causes some memories to start to bleed through.
- One thinks the other is in some kind of danger at Lumon and tries to find and help them, or they team up to try to find information or help someone else.
- I'm always down for chip malfunctions and shifting memories, and I love the idea that they'd be just as attracted to each other on the outside.
- I like idea like Burt's husband being a bad guy and part of Lumon's weird experiments or a good guy trying to bring them down, so feel free to make him whatever you want to serve your story (if you want to include him, of course).
- A happy ending for them would be great. At the very least, I want it to be a hopeful one that things might work out in the future, even if they're stil somewhat separated at the end.
World-building tags
I love the characters so much, but I chose the world-building tags because I also love the world in general and the freaky-deakyness of Lumon and its employees.
- I would love just about anything delving into the history of Lumon or the Eagans. Build on something mentioned on the show or create a new myth or history.
- Lumon's current policies and procedures like management training, departments we don't know about, weird and culty traditions like we've seen in the show, and anything that provides an explanation for the oddball stuff we already know about.
- How they recruit and convince people to undergo severance, what the process is like from someone being contacted or expressing interest through to the actual severance, and how they might advertise or find people willing.
- What happened to the first person severed? How many times has it really been done? Unsuccesful procedures and what happened.
- Was Helena really the first Eagen to do it, or have there been others, particularly in the testing phase? Was she really a willing true believer, or is there some family secret or situation
If your story has anything to do with the world, I'm going to be interested!
Dark
- Jonas Kahnwald/Jonas Kahnwald
- Jonas Kahnwald/Noah
Opt-ins:
Journal entries, writing or personal documents from any of the characters at any stage in the timeline would be great. Stranger!Jonas writing letters to his younger self, for instance, or entries about attempts to change things and the results. I'd enjoy anything along those lines, but any other ideas would be great too.

Oh god, the mind games in this show! The time travel fuckery! The whole word is fascinating, and almost headache-inducing to try to wrap my mind around - I'm not even sure I've totally gotten it yet (but I love that), with so many fascinating and compelling characters and storylines. Don't feel obligated to include any not tagged, but feel free to include any that you want to. And feel free to change outcomes and timelines however you want!
Prompts:
For Jonas/Jonas, the idea of teenage Jonas (don't age him younger than the 17ish he was on the show) and Stranger!Jonas getting together is so appealing, because who knows the pain in store better than the Stranger? Stranger!Jonas/Stranger!Jonas also has a lot of appeal.
If you wanted to write Jonas/Jonas as Adam and a younger version of himself, that would be fascinating too, given all that has happened. Adam/Noah is also full of possibility, and frankly I just think Stranger!Jonas/Noah would be hot as hell.
Stranger!Jonas' pain when he's in the now-times just gets to me, and what he must think and feel when faced with his younger self, knowing what's to come at least for a while, is so rich with possibilities. His love and devotion to Martha doesn't need to be removed or ignored, I love Jonas/Martha, and as the love story that started and perpetuated everything, I adore it, but it's okay not to reference it too. However you want to handle that is fine.
Jonas has to have affection or at least sympathy and compassion for his younger self, and maybe he expresses that. Maybe young Jonas is drawn to him and doesn't know why. Maybe he feels a need he doesn't understand to provide comfort.
Maybe he tries to lead his younger self down a different path, thinking he finally change things, so they spend (probably fairly cryptic) time together. Or maybe seduction is the kind of distraction Stranger!Jonas provides to keep Jonas from changing or securing a particular timeline of events.
Stranger!Jonas/Noah, especially Noah during his pretend-priest years, is appealing on so many levels. Being at odds, the conflict, Noah's feelings about younger Jonas and later betrayals and later seeing Jonas as such a visionary. It's such a jumble of emotions that anything involving both of them could be so good!
Noah's desire to have his daughter back and the belief that Adam!Jonas can give him that could lead to so much, like thinking that somehow convincing Stranger!Jonas of what he thinks is the correct path (to be Adam) can speed up the process. Maybe Stranger!Jonas tries to the opposite, to appeal to Noah's better nature and convince him to be on his side.
Noah and teenager Jonas is interesting, because though he clearly looks up to Jonas and is almost reverent of him by his Adam years, the thought that he could manipulate things more in his favor by changing younger Jonas' path through seduction, manipulation, whatever, though his affection and admiration should always be underneath it. Priest-era Noah can warn young Noah about what's to come, which would change his relationship with Jonas later.
Or it can just be years of unresolved sexual tension and attraction that bring them together (on their own, or through some Adam-style manipulation, as long as the feelings are real).
I don't need a happy ending for this necessarily or a happily ever after. They can part with the assumption that the rest of the show will play out as it did before. Or you can go another way and have whatever happens between either pairing change the future, or end it without imply anything either way.
Wellington Paranormal
- Officer Kyle Minogue & Officer O'Leary
- Officer Kyle Minogue & Officer O'Leary & Sergeant Maaka
- Constable Parker & Officer Kyle Minogue & Officer O'Leary & Sergeant Maaka
Opt-ins:
I've opted into newspaper front pages and articles because the newspaper headlines in the opening credits of the show are a scream, so I'd enjoy that kind of thing! I'd also enjoy any of the characters being interviewed and the transcripts resulting from that, whether about a specific case or in general by the camera crew.
Newspaper headlines or articles that get progressively more frantic, freaked-out or conspiracy-leaning could be a lot of fun, like there's a reporter who's slowly starting to figure out all the stuff our intrepid police officers investigate on a daily basis.
I also think their reports or private journals would be hilarious, or complaint forms written to Maaka. Minogue or one of them starts a blog about their weird encounters. Really anything.

This show is so much fun. It's a wonderful spin-off of What We Do in the Shadows, which is one of my favorite movies.
No ships, just canon friendships and working relationships. I'm looking for very canon-typical shenanigans.
Any kind of paranormal case or everyday interactions between any of these characters would be great. I love their friendships, and really how O'Leary seems to be the lead and Minogue defers to her a lot. And I love how hell can break loose and their reaction is to explain the situation calmly and say "we'd better do something about that, hadn't we?" Any casefic or just casual conversation about anything driving around in the car or in Maaka's office would work for me.
Prompts:
- After exposure to some paranormal creature Minogue starts to grow a tail or horns some other bizarre thing. I can picture him trying to hide it at first and then revealing it, and O'Leary taking it in stride. How do they solve the problem, or do they?
- They have to use a ouija board or some other device to try to contact someone who's passed on for information about a case? How crazily wrong could that go if they lose track of the letters and decipher the message incorrectly?
- One becomes psychic and drives the other crazy by constantly saying what will happen next, but only mundane things. Girl in the coffee shop's wearing purple today, before they get there, but not that someone naked is going to dash in front of their car, or something worth predicting.
- One gets possessed and the entity has messages show up on their skin or some other way, and they both keep interpreting the meanings wrong, but somehow fix it anyway. Or the possessed one keeps getting scolded by the others for being rude, pushy, nasty, whatever. O'Leary especially will not put up with that nonsense!
- Minogue, Parker or Maaka gets abducted by aliens, and can't convince the others that anything truly amazing/frightening/monumental happened. O'Leary especially keeps finding rational explanations for everything.
- The squad gets a new trainee who clearly has something very paranormally wrong with them (that it takes them forever to cotton onto) could be fun too. Does the new recruit really seem to become invisible sometimes or does Minogue just need glasses? Wasn't the new recruit a short man yesterday, so why is she a tall woman today? Did Minogue really see the new recruit jump fifteen feet to get a cat out of a tree, and the cat jumped down on its own, hissing and traumatized?
- Minogue or O'Leary has a girlfriend who turns out to be a monster (preferably inhuman in some way so there's no question that the relationship has to end, haha). How is it revealed and what do they do? Does the creature attack Parker and that's how they figure it out?
- A story from the point of the view of a cameraman or someone on the crew that follows them around could be a lot of fun. Same with the POV of a new recruit they have to train or someone there to supervise and hand out performance evaluations.
Re-Animator

Opt-ins:
Anything related to re-animating, from Dan and/or Herbert's scientific notes to journal entries or media reports about the re-animated (named whatever they would end up calling them).

I love that Herbert's a bit unhinged and gets more unhinged as the movies went, but Dan kept hanging in there with him. And I love how they're so physical with each other from the beginning, whether it’s leaning or a hand on the arm (or Herbert wrapping Dan in a blanket and touching his hand--!). Grabbing Dan's hand first when Dan's presenting him with the Bride. Love that kind of thing.
I firmly believe that Herbert doesn’t really care about people as much as he cares about defeating death and reaching his goals. He doesn’t care about individual people at all, except Dan. Dan’s the one living person Herbert does give a damn about, and that’s one of the things that makes their relationship so great, IMO.
Herbert's addiction to the reagent presents a lot of hurt/comfort possibilities. Trauma-induced nightmares are always a favorite too, especially when it involves the other character crawling into the bed with them for comfort afterward or trying to help them through it somehow.
DNW Exception: I'm okay with major character death here as long as it's temporary and the character is alive again and somewhat normal (as in not a blood-drooling zombie) at the end.
Prompts:
- If you've seen From Beyond, say Pretorius' house didn't explode and Herbert and Dan end up going there after Peru or at some other point to set up a lab. Herbert's scientific curiosity leads him to make some repairs to the resonator to see what it does, and he turns it on, leading to them fighting the effects and potentially failing. Herbert realizes that the pineal gland might be the key to a reagent that brings someone back as themselves. So he keeps turning it on. For research. Or any situation where they turn it on and the creatures start to come through/some other weird thing happens so they have to fight their way to turn it off, or any of the other possibilities, all good with me.
- Potential re-agent side-effects Herbert has to deal with. Horniness is always a favorite, but I'm interested in how he and Dan would deal with other things too, like Herbert being able to see things other people can't, or really no longer needing sleep for days on end. Or temporary memory loss that Dan has to bring him back from. Temporary amnesia could be a lot of fun with either of them.
- Dan's face when Herbert starts insulting Hill after they've just met is amazing. Honestly, it could be read as Bruce Abbott on the verge of smiling or laughing and ruining the take but managing to hang on in the end, but I like to see what passes over Dan's face while he and Herbert are staring at each other as an "oh no he's hot" moment. You can explore that as such a moment, or if not, show what he was thinking.
- It's a similar thing when they're in class and Herbert's snapping pencils. Watching Dan watch him is such a delight. And when Meg's complaining about Herbert and Dan admits he's a little cracked with a strange look on his face, and you can hear the implied "but I don't mind" or even "but I like it so it's okay." I'll enjoy anything dealing with Dan coming to terms with his sudden interest in an arrogant, slightly cracked Herbert
- I'm always down for one of them discovering he died and was brought back with (an obviously more refined) reagent and all the emotions and fallout from that.
- A fix-it for the third film. Preferably a shorter time span than 13 years, maybe just a year or so, and Herbert gets out of prison, either through a technicality or an escape. He goes to find Dan, not for revenge or anything, but maybe for help (if he escaped) or just to get some answers about why he betrayed him. But it turns out Dan only turned state’s evidence to prevent the government or some other villain from killing Herbert or worse and he hasn’t been able to contact him. Maybe Dan breaks him out and explains, even. I even like the idea that he did it for Herbert's own good because he didn't know what else to do. As long as they get back together.
- Carl Hill’s head got regenerated yet again and he bat-winged his way to Dan and hypnotized him to betray Herbert, and Dan’s been under his control for a few years while Herbert's been in prison, while Hill’s been trying to get him to reproduce the reagent or do his bidding while he’s working on it. I’m okay with it if he took other liberties with Dan too, giving Herbert even more reason to kill him again, but just controlling his mind and making him betray Herbert would be plenty. The aftermath of Dan getting free of that control and Herbert helping him through it would be amazing.
- If you can think of some other reason for an unwilling betrayal, I’m sure that’d be great, too. I like the idea of Herbert’s alarm when he discovers that Dan didn’t want to betray him and has been in a prison of his own the whole time, even if it’s just one of guilt.
- Any situation where Dan carries Herbert to bed because he’s collapsing with exhaustion, to a room where he can help him inject reagent, because he’s rescued him from someone or somewhere and he’s injured, because he’s been attacked by one of his creations. Any reason at all. I just love the caretaking.
- The focus on their hands and hand-touching/clasping in the films sends me. So that will obviously make me happy. I also really like the idea of Herbert’s hands being injured somehow (nothing that won’t heal). Maybe involuntary spasms for a while could lead Dan to help him eat or get dressed. I think he’d handle his basic hygiene on his own even if it hurt, he’s clever enough, but helping him bathe wouldn’t be out of the question, or helping him work.
- Herbert’s line about Dan thinking with his big head and not his little head stands out. He was so jealous of every woman who looked Dan’s way, but I’d like to see him and Dan both realize that as long as Dan’s thinking about him, Herbert’s fine with his little head doing some thinking. It can even be a revelation to Herbert, realizing how much he really does want Dan. Dan realizing that Herbert never touches anybody but him could be a result or the catalyst. Herbert doesn’t even like to shake people’s hands, wouldn’t even touch Dan the first time they met, then quickly couldn’t stop touching him every whipstitch. I love that.
- If Herbert creates a new reagent, while trying to keep people from coming back crazed and wrong, and tests it on himself, and it turns out to serve as some kind of sex pollen, that would be a-okay. Especially if he’s really suffering and determined not to push himself on Dan, so Dan has to take charge to make sure he’s okay. Alternately, Dan can be the one accidentally dosed somehow, maybe a spill or something that absorbs through his skin, and Herbert has to take care of him. Sex pollen for any reason is a favorite trope.
From Beyond
- Katherine McMichaels/Crawford Tillinghast
- Bubba Brownlee/Katherine McMichaels/Crawford Tillinghast
Opt-ins:
Crawford's psychological evaluation report is an easy opt-in for this one, and his journals, Katherine's, or Bubba's (or Pretorius') and any documents that make sense would also be great.

I don't want noncon, but the dubiest of dubcon is fine by me. I also typically DNW BDSM, but it's okay to include some elements since Pretorius was canonically into that. I don't want an entire PWP just focused on BDSM, but I don't mind references to it or the inclusion of somebody being strapped up/down and spanked or whipped or fucked or whatever you imagine might happen along those lines.
Prompts:
- A missing scene where Katherine and Crawford didn't stop with a kiss, maybe Pretorius doesn't interrupt this time. For a threesome, Bubba could figure out something was up, intervene and get caught up in the vibes of the machine, so he joins in.
- At any point, maybe the vibes are still getting to them and they keep ending up in compromising positions without even realizing they're doing it. One minute, somebody's making eggs. The next, they're dry-humping against the cabinets and being embarrassed or horrified afterward.
- What happens if the desires suddenly don't ease up when the machine's off or they can't find a way to get it off. It could be more than just desire but the need to be in physical contact with each other. Trying to find a way to stop the machine when they can't stop touching each other would be interesting.
- After the end, maybe Katherine goes back somehow to try to save Crawford from the other dimension. She manages to salvage the resonator and turn it on to try to contact him, and does. Since Pretorious looked fairly normal when they first saw him, Crawford could look like his old self. And I can see him being overwhelmed by all the desire of being there but also terrified and in pain and wanting to leave. And he and Katherine getting together during this time could be amazing, especially if they're both, or just one of them is, trying to fight it.
- If you've seen Society, the whole weird absorb-y sex shunting thing would make some fucked-up but potential fun xeno sex where someone in the other reality can start to absorb or absorb into someone, feeding off their energy. Pretorious' transformation makes me think of that film every time. If you want to write the weirdest Society-like xeno between any of the characters, (it would work well for a post-canon Crawford and still-human Katherine), I'd love it.
- Straight-up romance is great too! Katherine and Crawford in particular were so tender with each other, each protective of the other, that totally works for me. Bubba being more practical and sensible than either of them is a nice counterpoint too, and some spontaneous, tension-relieving thank-god-we're-alive or this-might-be-our-only-chance sex can never go wrong. Bubba and Crawford get out of the basement unscathed, rush up to find Katherine, and in their relief at everyone being okay, with the resonator vibes only slowly fading, things ensue.
- If Katherine is turning the resonator on, trying to save Crawford, it could become almost like an addition where she turns it on because she needs him and is danger of losing herself to it and forgetting what she's doing it for. Or the resonator, at an point in canon or after (or before) causes a time loop. Maybe the whole movie is Crawford's loop and he's trying to change what happened at any point.

I haven't seen the last season of the show yet, so my prompts are all based on the first three, but I will have seen it by the time this exchange is over! Feel free to write something mostly based in the final season or a fix-it for something I don't even know about yet.
An Evil story can be super dark, creepy, full-bore horror, but I'd prefer it not end super dark or bleak. I like happy or at least hopeful endings, but to stick to the style of the show, it's okay if there's obviously more darkness coming around the corner later.
DNW Exception: You can ignore my kidfic DNW and include any/all of the girls if you want.
Prompts:
Ben & Karima
I would adore a story focused on Ben and Karima. I love them both so much. Ben's my favorite, and I wish Karima appeared in every episode.
- I adore Ben's relationship with Karima. I'm still intrigued by what the smart home device said about her baby being with the Muslim equivalent of the devil and her just refusing to discuss it with him, so exploring that could be interesting.
- I'd be equally interested to see him working things out about his struggle to stay skeptical with Karima and how he comes to a decision about it, even temporarily.
- Maybe Ben marvels over Karima's hacking skills in any situation, or is visibly proud of her to David and Kristen, or just them bantering over anything.
- I LOVE Karima helping Ben figure stuff out. More Ben and Karima at the Super Secret Science League. That whole episode and their closeness was such a blast!
- Ben telling her about the elevator game and confessing that it's messed him up, and her comforting him. I'd love to see his trauma explored a little more than it has been on the show, with her supporting him. And I'd love to see him telling her about it and her freaking out about almost losing him with them both still not quite believing it all.
- Sibling high-fives and hugs! Snarking at each other! Arguing and making up! More Ben and Karima being close siblings, period.
- Karima sleeping over because they're so involved in whatever mystery they're trying to unravel or supernatural thing they're trying to debunk and experiencing something unexplainable in his apartment (seeing the succubus? Finding a retainer? Thinking she sees a demon?) or Karima meeting Ben's ex who appears to have killed the spirit of her twin and giving him her no-nonsense opinion (same with finding out about the gal he slept with at the cult compound).I love them so much. Anything.
Ben & any of the Bouchard girls
Ben the Magnificent and the kids are one of my favorite things, and him being someone they trust to tell things even more, so almost any scenario that includes them would be great. Ben with all the Bouchard girls or just Laura or Lexis is fine. I love all the girls, and I love how they and Kristen made Ben part of their family.
- Ben doesn't just take in the information about Leland being on a child's app in quite so much stride but instead asks more questions and learns the whole story. What does he do about it, and how does he plan to tell Kristen?
- I think a canon divergence where they go to him when they realize it's Leland and basically look over his shoulder while he pretends to be one of them and records it to bust him later could be fun.
- He could teach them some scientific principle or show them an experiment or something. (If he enlisted Karima, that'd be pretty neat too.) Or help them plan some surprise for their parents.
- Whether working out the bit about Leland, working on the plumbing, babysitting on an ordinary evening, helping one of the girls with a common real-world problem, discovering Lexis' tail, anything where they help each other in some way or he takes care of them would be great.
- Ben needing to rescue one of the girls and figuring out how to do it, and basically being a big-ass hero. Saving their life, down to protecting them from a bully, I'd love it.
- Ben making PSA videos to show ids the fakery in scary videos online with the girls helping could be pretty neat, so a scene where they do that could be fun. Or where one or more get freaked out by a video and he demonstrates for them to show it's fake.
David/Kristen/Ben and David & Kristen & Ben
I chose both the & and / for the main three, and I'll honestly enjoy either. Canon-typical shenanigans with David, Kristen, and Ben would be great, whether missing scenes from the show or something new. I love the way they interact, period. If you opt for / it can be with or without actual sex. I like flirting, sexual tension, and heavy foreshadowing that they'll get together in the future, too
- Anything that demonstrates the love, respect and trust between any of the mains. Like when Ben made the deep fake of Leland for Kristen, just trusting what she said to be true, and how she trusted him to do that. And how Ben works for David, not the church, because he trusts and cares about David. How David confided in Kristen about the mushrooms and how they have this thing going on between them. Anything highlighting trust and loyalty would be so great.
- I'm totally okay if they have a threesome that turns out to only be part of David's hallucination (or Ben's or Kristen's). In fact, I really really like that idea, especially with him having lustful thoughts after while he's around them knowing what's happening at night isn't real and struggling to stop thinking about it, wanting it and taking part in it when the opportunity arises.
- If you write sex, it can be 100% consensual or under-the-influence of something and I'll enjoy it either way. Just please make it natural and spontaneous without negotiations or rules or "formal" agreements, even if it's a stone-cold sober decision. No discussion at all would work, too.
- I love dubcon, so it can be dubcon all day long, but please no outright noncon between these characters. However, one or more can feel guilty as if they nonconned one or both of the others, as long as that's resolved by the end.
- Along those lines, maybe they're influenced by demons or some force that thinks having them all together will destroy their relationships, but of course it has the opposite effect. The devil can think that some dubcon threesome where they double-team Kristen or where David or Ben has sex with the other is going to make them avoid each other, but joke's on you, bad guy, they secretly wanted it anyway, so there.
- Maybe David and Kristen could be in another scenario like at the farm and Ben shows up, and that's how it happens. Maybe he shows up in that episode, the night David and Kristen first kissed, and things ensue. Any situation like that's going to be good by me. The three of them can also be together without any sex with just serious flirting going on and maybe the implication that things are going to happen between them eventually, whether they're influenced by something or not.
- More insight into them comforting Kristen when she told them Andy was dead, how she goes to them immediately after the end of the season (because surely she did run to tell them) and how they react.
- The scenes from the Demon of the Road where they're in the car, singing and hanging out and just being best friends? I love that kind of thing, so more of that would be great. Road tripping for a case, getting stranded at a motel or anywhere, whether with friendship or romantic/sexual dynamics.
- Maybe Ben just doesn't take in the information about Leland being on a child's app in quite so much stride but instead asks more questions and learns the whole story then informs Kristen and David, and what they might think and do about that. Ben and the kids are one of my favorite things, and him being something they trust to tell things even more, so if you want to go there, feel free!
- I'm fine if they all, or two of the three, get dosed with David's mushrooms and either get sexy with each other or reveal shippy feelings to each other, or have some epiphanies about spiritual things or a case specifically, depending on where you want to take things.
- Focus more on a single case they had or a new one. Any situation from a dinner together to working to planning a 'yay you're not dead' party for Andy or dealing with anything else. More show-like interactions is all I really need!
- I'd also love to hear Ben's and Kristen's take on the Great Glowing Vagina (I can't help thinking that every time) that opens in the sky filled with saints in David's visions.
Matthew/Frank
I fell in love Matthew/Frank as soon as Frank showed up and Matt was so concerned, and then Frank's surprise kiss after he didn't die! And Frank going somewhere else because it was better if they weren't around each other. And of course, the feelings running both directions being confirmed in the worst of ways. :(
- I'd love to see awkward moments from their earliest years in the seminary where it was clear they felt things for each other but couldn't act on them. Awkward flirting that couldn't lead anywhere, hands brushing, secret smiles and all the pining and longing would be fantastic. How did they end up falling so hard for each other? All those little moments that lead to something bigger would be great.
- More of Matthew's anguish that Frank is dying and everything he may have said or felt leading up to the experiment where he inexplicably lived. Even if it's just his private journals rather than anything he said out loud.
- How they decided it would be best if Matt went to another parish, whether one pushed for him staying there and one realizing they wouldn't be able to resist, or if they both knew it would be impossible to stay chaste if they saw each other every day.
- It'd be great if the story ended with Matthew still alive. Either before his death or a fix-it where he's hurt but lives and Frank sees him the next day in the hospital or recuperating and expresses himself and his feelings more than on the show. Frank breaking down the way he did (oh, my heart) because he thinks Matthew is dead/dying then he lives would be great.
- If it's a fix-it, I'd be interested to see them navigate Frank deciding to stay and helping with their projects, and Matthew agreeing, because they've both cheated death and maybe that's some kind of sign that they shouldn't waste the borrowed time they have left. An agreement between them and getting together in the face of all that happened would be terrific, but I'm just as happy with them still resisting but being around each other.
- An epistolary story made up of mostly letters one or both have written to the other over the years could be really great for showing their relationship and forbidden feelings, too.
