2022 Fic in a Box Letter

I'm CousinShelley at AO3.

Thank you in advance for writing one of these fandoms for me! I've given some prompts, many in some cases, but you don't have to use any of them. Also, some fandoms generate a lot of specific ideas, especially if I've requested them a lot, and others are more general. A shorter prompt list than some others doesn't mean I love or want a fandom any less.

For the ship-based requests, I enjoy stories with pining and flirting that lead to obvious returned feelings, all the feelings and romantic gestures, kissing and cuddling and holding each other as much as stories that lead to sex. I also like it when the ships getting together over the course of a mystery, casefic or other plotty story, so it doesn't have to be only about them getting together, if you'd rather write other things.

I also enjoy stories with sex, so if your story calls for it and you want to write it, please do! Just don't ever think I'll be disappointed without it. I won't, as long as the feelings are there.

List of things I like
List of DNWs

Evil (TV 2019)

Ben Shakir & Karima Shakir (Evil TV)
Ben Shakir & Kristen & Lynn & Lila & Lexis & Laura Bouchard (Evil TV)
Ben Shakir & Laura Bouchard (Evil TV)
Ben Shakir & Lexis Bouchard (Evil TV)
David Acosta & Kristen Bouchard & Ben Shakir (Evil TV)
David Acosta/Kristen Bouchard/Ben Shakir (Evil TV)
Father Frank Ignatius/Monsignor Matthew Korecki (Evil TV)
Sister Andrea & David Acosta (Evil TV)

An Evil story can be super dark, creepy, full-bore horror, but I'd prefer it not end dark or bleak. I like happy or at least hopeful endings.

Also, this fandom is an exception to my DNW for kidfic. I love the Bouchard girls and their relationship with Ben.

Don't feel constrained by my prompts. Feel free to write something else!

  • Canon-typical shenanigans with David, Kristen, and Ben would be great, whether missing scenes from the show or something new. I love the way they interact, period.
  • Anything that demonstrates the love, respect and trust between any of the mains. Like when Ben made the deep fake of Leland for Kristen, just trusting what she said to be true, and how she trusted him to do that. And how Ben works for David, not the church, because he trusts and cares about David. How David confided in Kristen about the mushrooms and how they have this thing going on between them. Anything highlighting trust and loyalty would be so great.
  • I chose both the & and / for these three, and I'll honestly enjoy either. If you opt for / it can be with or without actual sex. I like flirting, sexual tension, and heavy foreshadowing that they'll get together in the future, if you don't want to write sex. So no worries there!
  • The end of the season was devastating. More insight into them comforting Kristen when she told them about Andy, how she goes to them immediately after the end of the season (because surely she did run to tell them) and how they react. The horror of the evil, supernatural aspect of what's happening with her egg is chilling, but even skeptic Ben is going to be flat-out horrified at the real-world aspect of Kristin's egg and supposedly Leland's sperm creating a child. He's going to be outraged and horrified on her behalf even not believing in the evil (though he's going to have to believe something eventually, right?)
  • The scenes from the Demon of the Road where they're in the car, singing and hanging out and just being best friends? I love that kind of thing, so more of that would be great.
  • The season that just ended raises all sorts of possibility, and I'm totally okay if they have a threesome that turns out to only be part of David's hallucination. In fact, I really really like that idea, especially with him having lustful thoughts after while he's around them knowing what's happening at night isn't real and struggling to stop thinking about it, wanting it and taking part in it when the opportunity arises.
  • If you write sex, it can be 100% consensual or under-the-influence of something and I'll enjoy it either way. Just please make it natural and spontaneous without negotiations or rules or "formal" agreements, even if it's a stone-cold sober decision. No discussion at all would work, too.
  • I love dubcon, so it can be dubcon all day long, but please no outright noncon between these characters. However, one or more can feel guilty as if they nonconned one or both of the others, as long as that's resolved by the end.
  • Along those lines, maybe they're influenced by demons or some force that thinks having them all together will destroy their relationships, but of course it has the opposite effect. The devil can think that some dubcon threesome where they double-team Kristen or where David or Ben has sex with the other is going to make them avoid each other, but joke's on you, bad guy, they secretly wanted it anyway, so there.
  • Maybe David and Kristen could be in another scenario like at the farm and Ben shows up, and that's how it happens. Maybe he shows up in that episode, the night David and Kristen first kissed, and things ensue. Any situation like that's going to be good by me.
  • The three of them can also be together without any sex as long as there's some serious flirting going on and maybe the implication that things are going to happen between them eventually, whether they're influenced by something or not. Pig pile them any which way. And of course the three of them in & relationships is good, too!
  • I'd love to see a scene where Ben just doesn't take in the information about Leland being on a child's app in quite so much stride but instead asks more questions and learns the whole story then informs Kristen and David, and what they might think and do about that. Ben and the kids are one of my favorite things, and him being something they trust to tell things even more, so if you want to go there, feel free!
  • Ben with all the Bouchard girls or just Laura or Lexis is fine. Whether workingn out the bit about Leland, working on the plumbing, discovering Lexis' tail, anything where they help each other in some way or he takes care of them would be great.
  • I'm fine if they all, or two of the three, get dosed with David's mushrooms and either get sexy with each other or reveal shippy feelings to each other, or have some epiphanies about spiritual things or a case specifically, depending on where you want to take things.
  • By the way, I don't expect any other characters than the ones nominated, but if you want to throw some in, be my guest. i love all the characters, especially Sister Andrea (the scene with her beating the hell out of demons while having normal conversation was fantastic and funny), I'm so relieved about Andy, and love to hate Leland and Sheryl (damn, Sheryl, just damn, are you even redeemable now? I had such hopes for you).
  • Letting the three pick up where the season ends and taking it in whatever direction you want, or focusing more on a single case they had or a new one would be great too. I'd also love to hear Ben's and Kristen's take on the magical glowing vagina-like portal (I can't help thinking that every time) that opens in the sky filled with saints in David's visions.
  • I love Sister Andrea in general, but especially her mentorship of David. I'd love anything involving them, from him performing an exorcism that she helps with to a road trip to investigate a possible possession. All their interactions are gold.

Ben & Karima

  • I also really, really love Ben's relationship with Karima, so if we matched on them, I'm still ingtrigued by what the smart home device said about her baby being with the Muslim equivalent of the devil and her just refusing to discuss it with him, so exploring that could be interesting, especially since we got to see a lot more of their relationship this season \o/.
  • Maybe Ben marvels over Karima's hacking skills in any situation, or is visibly proud of her to David and Kristen, or just them bantering over anything.
  • I LOVE Karima helping Ben figure stuff out. More Ben and Karima at the Super Secret Science League. Ben telling her about the elevator game and confessing that it's messed him up, and her comforting him. (I'd love to see him telling her about it and her freaking out about almost losing him with them both still not quite believing it all. Sibling high-vies and hugs! Bitching at each other! Arguing and making up! More Ben and Karima being close siblings, period.
  • Karima sleeping over because they're so involved in whatever mystery they're trying to unravel or supernatural thing they're trying to debunk and experiencing something unexplainable in his apartment (seeing the succubus? Finding a retainer? Thinking she sees a demon?) or Karima meeting Ben's ex who appears to have killed the spirit of her twin and giving him her no-nonsense opinion (same with finding out about the gal he slept with at the cult compound). I just love them so much. Anything.

Matthew/Frank

I fell in love with them as soon as Frank showed up and Matt was so concerned, and then Frank's surprise kiss after he didn't die! And Frank going somewhere else because it was better if they weren't around each other. And of course, the feelings running both ways confirmed in the worst of ways. :(

I'm not looking for explicit sex with these two but hand-holding, kissing, or sex that's not explicitly described would be fine. More intimacy than individual acts, if that makes sense, though I'm fine with a completely PG story, too.

  • I'd love to see awkward moments from their earliest years in the seminary where it was clear they wanted to but couldn't/didn't. Awkward flirting that couldn't lead anywhere, hands brushing, secret smiles and all the pining and longing would be fantastic. How did they end up loving one another a little too much? All those little moments that lead to something bigger would be great.
  • I think it'd be great to see Matthew's anguish that Frank is dying and everything he may have said or felt leading up to the experiment where he inexplicably lived. Even if it's just his private journals rather than anything he said out loud.
  • How they decided it would be best if Matt went to another parish, whether one pushed for him staying there and one realized they wouldn't be able to resist, or if they both knew it would be impossible to stay chaste if they saw each other every day.
  • It'd be great if the story ended with Matthew still alive. Either before his death or a fix-it where he's hurt but lives and Frank sees him the next day in the hospital or recuperating and expresses his fear and relief without holding back. Frank breaking down the way he did (oh, my heart) because he thinks Matthew will die and then he lives would be great.
  • If it's a fix-it, I'd be interested to see them navigate Frank decided to stay and help with the assessors' projects, and Matthew agreeing, because they've both cheated death and maybe that's some kind of sign that they shouldn't waste the borrowed time they have left.
  • An epistolary story made up of mostly letters they've written each other over the years could be really great for showing their relationship and forbidden feelings, too.

Our Flag Means Death

Izzy Hands/Spanish Jackie
Izzy Hands/Evelyn Higgs
Stede Bonnet/Edward Teach & Mary Bonnet

I love this show with my whole heart. If you want to throw in any canon pairings or other characters, feel free, but I don't expect that.

Izzy Hands/Spanish Jackie

  • Anything from conversation to smut, really. I like the idea of Jackie only agreeing to help Izzy with a little extra incentive that includes sex, and whether it's all for her or they both get something out of it doesn't really matter to me.
  • And I really like the idea of Jackie picking up on Izzy's undying devotion to Edward and showing him what he's missing out on by holding out for someone who's not going to be with him. The idea of him being touch-starved and her fixing that and giving him some praise (especially while also being a bit bossy and rough), sounds fantastic to me. A little knife or swordfight to determine what happens? Winner gets what they want, or something? I really just want her to put him in his place, and for him to like it a lot, whether it's sexual or not.
  • Maybe Izzy hangs out at her bar longer than necessary because he's so upset about Edward and they bond. He probably thinks her nose jar serves as a good disincentive for people to buck her authority, and maybe he admires her harem of husbands because she's clearly a take-charge kind of person. Maybe he's a good listener about all the shit she goes through with her husbands or the trials of running that bar. I think the idea of one of them giving the other advice (probably really bad advice that always leans toward violence or something) in some sort of mutual therapy session would be fantastic.
  • I also like them becoming unexpected friends via mutual admiration and respect, and it's fine if there's flirting and attraction (or not) that's not acted on. Helping each other out in various situations as a sign of friendship. I love both characters, so I'm pretty easy. Have them together in some way, platonically or not, and I'll look forward to it.

Izzy Hands/Evelyn Higgins

  • This has a similar dynamic for me. I just adore her, and I think she and Izzy would like each other and she would also instantly give zero fucks what he thinks, because she's a tough one, and I love that.
  • I don't know how the hell they'd meet, maybe Ed disappeared in search of Stede after he got over his heartache instead of breaking bad, so Izzy goes in search of him in Stede's town and meets Evelyn, or they run into each other at any point, even post-canon or pre-Stede, for some reason.
  • I like the idea of Izzy teaching her some sword moves, maybe to protect herself, or them committing murder together. Murder as bonding! Maybe someone's threatening Evelyn and they take care of the problem. Izzy dispatches an annoying ex or helps her to do it because he's a gentleman in many ways and can't stand men who mistreat women?
  • I also like the idea that when meet they can't stand each other and just insult the hell out of each other, but their arguing and/or murderous exploits lead to friendship and/or feelings.
  • I think Izzy has a subby side and would probably like the other to take charge when they're intimate, and I think Evelyn probably knows exactly what she wants, so I think they'd be incredibly hot together. Not looking for formal stuff, just a woman who knows what she needs and knows exactly how to get it and a man relieved to be able to give it to her.
  • Maybe at some point Izzy meets her because he's been tasked with killing her as some kind of old debt or favor or something. She's clearly been up to some shit and maybe have a couple of enemies. I'd like him to not intend to kill a woman, but convince her to use a different name and go somewhere else, but maybe he ends up admiring her so much he turns on the person who wanted her dead?
  • It could also be interesting if when they meet Evelyn assumes here's there pursuing a woman who scorned him and she intends to be an obstacle every step of the way, because reasons. When she finds out he's looking for a man, she can find him a lot more interesting. Of if he's there for any other reason, her making bad assumptions about him at first that give way to a less threatening reality would be great. I just think a story with these two badasses at the center, whether friends or lovers, would be a amazing. Throw them together in whatever way!

Stede Bonnet/Edward Teach & Mary Bonnet

I think Edward and Mary would become fast friends. I want them to be friends, whether it's a canon divergence or post-canon story.

  • I don't have that many ideas for this, but I like the idea of a canon divergence where instead of running away, Stede meets Ed but decides he needs to go home and make things right before they run off to China. They go so he can make peace with his decisions and Ed and Mary become besties.
  • I like the idea that she thinks he's just a friend and slowly discovers that Stede and Ed are in love because they can't seem to keep from giving themselves away. She sees the looks and little touches and figures it out.
  • Also, maybe instead of going dark at the end of S1, Ed decides he's going to find Stede himself (maybe to give him a piece of his mind for closure at first, then in hopes of getting him back - I'm okay with him being righteously pissed for a while). Maybe he shows up and surprises Stede and pretends to be a friend for Mary's sake. He stays with them while he and Stede are working things out and he and Mary bond. I really like the idea of Stede realizing how alike they are in many ways and admiring Mary more than ever (because she's awesome) and falling more in love with Ed. Eventually they work it out and Mary cottons onto the truth about them, and is just as happy for him as she was in S1. I just really want Ed to be amazed by her, like the kids, and not be jealous of anything but maybe the lifestyle, but not Stede's relationships. Of course, angst about asking Stede to give all that up for him and wondering if he should/would for a little while is encouraged, as long as he knows he's the most important thing in the end.
  • I'm also fine with Ed bonding with Doug and thinking he's great, and/or intimidating the hell out of anybody there who ever mocked or bullied Stede.
  • It could be interesting if Mary gets Ed into painting, like he really thinks she's talented, and his paintings are either dark past things like the Kraken or stormy seas or maybe the opposite, all bright, light, sweet things like butterflies and birds. Or both, depending. Art as therapy for Ed, without that intention necessarily, could be a lot of fun.
  • I'm also alright with full Kraken Ed showing up with the intention of killing Mary if Stede ran back to her in some angry rage, but once he meets her he discovers he really, really likes her and changes his mind.
  • If Ed goes to find Stede post-canon, it could be before or after Stede has his revelation about being in love with Ed. Both have some great possibilities for scenes involving Mary with one or both of them.
  • Any scenario you can think of to get Stede and Ed together (or working toward it) where Ed can meet and love Mary (and her to love him) is fine by me.

The Endless

Aaron/Justin
Aaron/Hal/Justin
Hal/Justin
Aaron/Justin & Hal

I ship Aaron/Justin and Hal/Justin (and Aaron), and I love their canon relationships, too. The time loops and deaths instantly undone to do it all over again create so many possibilities, along with an entity voyeur that likes to rub that in your face with videos and photos.

I've watched this movie and Resolution enough times that you should feel free to use any characters and/or references from either that you want to. This movie (and Resolution) does so much with so little. The creepiness and mystery build with implication and lack of information rather than spelling everything out, and I love that.

This fandom is an exception to my major character death DNW as long as the character comes back. You can kill 'em and hurt 'em all you want as long as it's not permanent here.

The relationship between Justin and Aaron is fascinating and so very codependent, and any exploration of that will be a winner. Justin got him out of the cult and takes care of him, but he's got such strange ways of protecting him, like telling him that all the men in the cult are castrated and that Anna is a pedophile who paid Aaron too much attention when he was little. On the shippy side, there a lot of interesting paths to go down thanks to things like this.

Anything with the shades of the creepiness of the film with the brothers or them and Hal will be great. Feel free to include whatever canon characters you might want to.

My character-death DNW can safely be ignored for this fandom, as long as any character who dies doesn't stay dead.

Here are some prompts, but feel free to write something else.

  • If you want to set something after the film, do Aaron and Justin wake up back in the camp one day and have to leave all over again? Do they somehow figure out they're in a time loop that may go back even as far as the car accident? Does Justin wonder if they're dead and in some time-loop purgatory and question reality altogether? Is being out of the camp the dream and his nightmare of being stuck there his reality? Does the entity send them messages beyond the video of the cult saying goodbye?
  • Aaron dies in the camp and Justin has to push into the time loop premise to try to go back and save him. Or Justin dies, and the same. I know I DNW major character death, but this is an exception because we’ll assume he will not stay dead and that Justin and/or Hal (or Aaron and/or Hal) will save him and break them out.
  • I like the idea of Justin and Aaron getting separated into two of the zones in the camp. They get desperate and maybe even pray to whatever force is causing it to reunite them, making promises and bargains, and maybe getting messages from the entity about what it wants them to do in exchange for being together again. It can be anything from something fairly innocent like smoking the red dope every night for a week and facing those consequences/trips, or revealing secrets to each other, to sexytimes.
  • Amnesia with one of the brothers could be great, too. What if Justin's memory is taken by the entity, the red weed, the cult, Hal, whatever, and he's forgotten how much he wanted to be away from there? What does Aaron go through in not telling him, or telling him and ruining his happiness? What if Justin lost enough memories to leave without Aaron and only realize later when he's back in the real world. The horror of that and the need to get back and hopefully find him alive could be great. Same with Aaron leaving and later remembering him.
  • I also really like the idea of the entity or the dope or something making Aaron and Justin forget they're brothers long enough to act on their attraction to each other without the sibling guilt, and the memory to come back after (and hopefully for them to decide hat despite the guilt, they don't want to stop their new relationship).
  • What is Hal up to? Does he have an agenda beyond wanting them to stay? Is he jealous of their bond and hoping to win Aaron over? Does he have some sort of special connection with the entity nobody knows about? Both of them losing their memories while in camp and Hal managing them could be really interesting (and horror for Justin in a way, especially as he starts to remember).
  • What exactly causes Anna to stare at Hal with such seriousness when he encouraged Aaron and Justin to participate in The Struggle. She shot him a number of looks through the course of the film about things he said and did regarding the brothers. Is she worried he's trying to get them trapped there? Is there some other reason that has concerned? Is Hal the one who wanted to lead, despite what he says to Justin, and feels threatened, so he wanted Justin to lose The Struggle? I'd like his motives to be borne out of wanting Justin, either as a close friend or more, rather than something wholly insidious. But man, if Hal would have looked at Anna when she was staring at him, I think he'd have ended up an inch shorter.
  • Did Hal send the tape in the hopes of having Justin (and Aaron) with him forever? Did Hal know the entity was sending it? It seems like there's much more going on in Hal's head than we got a glimpse of.
  • For an Aaron/Justin/Hal, maybe the brothers forget they're related but Hal joins in still remembering who they all are, but he's wanted it for so long he doesn't tell me? Or he knows that the entity has done it, and going against it would be unwise so he says nothing? Maybe he hints or makes "jokes" about it to see if he can spark a memory but ultimately goes with it?
  • Any missing scene would be great, whether between the brothers or dealing with one pining for or being jealous or possessive of the other. I thought there was amazing chemistry between Justin and Hal and ship them too. Maybe when Hal takes Justin to show him the equation, Aaron gets jealous because he thinks one or both want to be with the other. I think seeing one or both of them more jealous than was shown in the film. I don’t think Justin’s jealousy was romantic or sexual in the film, but he clearly wants to be the focus of Aaron’s attention, so leaning hard into that and taking it further into romantic or sexual desire would be great.
  • Maybe Aaron knows Justin is in love with him/wants him and even though they're both conflicted, he likes it and flirts extra hard with Hal to try to push Justin to admit it or show it more openly. Or Justin does the flirting in the hopes of getting a reaction from Aaron, and either it works as hoped or it ends up drawing Hal in with them, too.
  • The entity likes to send them things. What if it sent Justin photos or video of Aaron having sex with someone else? Hal, or Anna, or a total stranger? Justin hides that he knows but seethes with jealousy and hurt (and guilt for wanting his brother), and when they have a confrontation about it, it turns out that the images are the fantasies Aaron has about Justin with other people plugged in, or something like that.
  • Maybe pre- or post-film the entity sends Justin video where Aaron is talking to him through it and confessing that he wants him, maybe while touching himself. Does Justin believe it’s real or doubt it? What happens? There are so many possibilities in this weird universe.

The Trollenberg Terror

Alan Brooks/Philip Truscott

I doubt the writer or filmmaker intended Philip to look like he was flirting his ass off from the moment he met Alan or appear so drawn to him, but that's how it turned out anyway, and I am there for it. I don't mind any other characters showing up, and if you write them in a situation where they could save Dewhurst or Klein, that's certainly welcome. I really love Professor Crevett. I like the Pilgrim sisters too, so they're welcome to appear. Really, do whatever you want as long as Alan/Philip is the focus.

Any missing scene with Philip and Alan would great, or canon divergences that put them alone, either before, during or after the aliens attacked in the end of the film. Flirting, banter and conversation, and UST (and maybe at least a first kiss or some other outward display of affection) would be great.

I just really like the way they're always next to each other, solving mysteries and being competent and proactive when the shit hits the fan. I like them dealing with the mystery, figuring it out, saving people, saving each other, and dealing with the trauma of it all afterward.

Prompts and ideas:

  • I want Philip and Alan to be more flummoxed and determined to figure out how Dewhurst ended up headless in a locked damn cabin, because I sue can't. I mean, WTF, movie, this doesn't really fit within the rules you set for yourself. The creatures are established as having psychic connections with some people, and are even able to animate people once they're dead. But they have to tear heads off physically. So, something tore his Dewhurt's head off and left the cabin (with the head, presumably). How did the door get locked from the inside? Did the creatures animate Dewhurt's headless body to lock the door? That makes no sense. Can they get into a place through the frosty mist we saw precede them, become corporeal, rip people's heads off, then turn back into mist (along with the head(!) or do they absorb/eat/disintegrate the heads?) and blow on out again? I'm confident it's a movie mistake, unless there's a reasonable explanation I'm missing, but it could be twisted into a fun plot point for them to discover, or for them to puzzle over together even if they can't figure it out.
  • Philip and Alan get trapped alone, either in Hotel Europa or on the mountain somewhere. What happens is up to you, but if they're in peril while they're trapped, that'd be worth a bonus point.
  • Too many celebratory scotches lead them to fall asleep (innocently) in the same room, even the same bed. One (or both) is worried he made the pass he's been wanting to make at the other while drunk and doesn't remember how the other might have reacted so they basically flee to shower and change. I'd love to see them navigate this awkwardness until the truth comes out, and they can be relieved and happy.
  • They embrace after the fire-bombing raid, overjoyed that it's over and they're still alive, and have feelings, and then remember they're in a room full of people.
  • They're finally alone after the fire-bombing raid, relieved and flirting again, and Alan (or Philip) can't wait another second to kiss the other.
  • Philip has a nightmare about being choked to death like he almost was and wakes up screaming. Alan runs from his room to see what's going on and insists on staying with him. Or Alan can wake screaming from a nightmare of not being able to get Philip away from the alien that had him (or his brush with one), and Philip rushes into his room to see what's the matter. Lovely h/c scenario, imo! I will never tired of this kind of thing.
  • I like a scenario where they get closer after the film while they're still there and meet up shortly after to deal with another anomaly. Maybe one of them calls the other right away about a situation similar to what happened on the Trollenberg, or something equally screwed up, and getting back together makes them overcome their hesitancy.
  • One of them has lingering injuries from the ordeal. I mean, Philip got hanged by the thing, and Alan got a bit mauled. Maybe adrenalin kept them going but once the threat is over, one of them needs further medical care and the other refuses to leave his side.
  • Together somewhere, maybe a planned meeting after Trollenberg because they both hesitate to let the other out of his life, a real-life danger crops up. Maybe an armed robbery, or an explosion or something relatively banal compared to tentacled giant-eye aliens with mind-control powers, and they handle it together, and flirty and/or sexy things ensue.
  • Or another otherwordly threat occurs and they work together again to figure it out and fight it. Yeti/Bigfoot sightings in a snowy forest somewhere with missing people. Alien abductions and UFO sightings were huge in the 1950s, too.
  • Maybe government agencies swoop in to interrogate and test everyone involved and they turn out to be agencies Alan can't navigate. He and Philip are separate for at least a few days, and their concern for each other boils over when they're finally allowed to see each other again.
  • The thing that grabbed Philip drags him away instead of holding him there and Alan only gets a glimpse of it retreating when he rushes outside. He has to go after it to save Philip, who could reasonably be unconscious by the time it's over and Alan has to carry him back to the observatory where he and Professor Crevett try to help him wake.
  • Or Philip fights his way free of it while no one's watching the screen, Alan can't find him and assumes the worst and thinks he's dead after the firebombing raid but either can't give in and goes to look one more time, or Philip stumbles out as people are leaving the observatory, worse for wear and needing some serious help.

Re-Animator

Daniel Cain/Herbert West

What always struck me about these two was how Herbert was clearly unhinged and got more so as the movies went, but Dan kept hanging in there with him. After Meg died at the end of the first film, instead of breaking all ties for all the pain Herbert brought into his life, he goes to Peru with him because he’s obviously devoted to the work (and Herbert) at that point, no matter what.

He doesn’t even manage to break it off in the second film, when he really, really should have. Canon has him previously turning state’s evidence before the main part of the third film, set 13 years later, but I ignore that and have some fix-it ideas.

These two are very physical with each other from the beginning, whether it’s leaning or a hand on the arm (or Herbert wrapping Dan in a blanket and touching his hand--!). And the director focused on these things in an interesting way.

One of my favorite moments is in Bride of Re-Animator when Dan presents Herbert with their creation. He’s awed and approaches them, and the first thing he does is grab Dan’s hand in a definitive squeeze. “We did it,” he says, giving Dan an equal part in their achievement and making a point of that. Dan’s holding her hand, and soon enough Herbert touches her specifically, but his first instinct was to squeeze Dan’s hand. And the whole shot is just that. More of that kind of thing, please!

I firmly believe that Herbert doesn’t really care about people as much as he cares about defeating death and reaching his goals. He doesn’t care about individual people at all, except Dan. Dan’s the one living person Herbert does give a damn about, and that’s one of the things that makes their relationship so great, IMO.

My character-death DNW can safely be ignored for this fandom, as long as any character who dies doesn't stay dead.

Some ideas I really like:

  • Dan slowly realizes he must have died and been resurrected with Herbert’s reagent. I’m sure he’ll be pissed about that because of the risks, and then get over it because he’s glad to be alive, but I’m most interested in the clues and things that happen to bring him to the realization. And I also want to see Herbert having to admit that he knew Dan would be angry, maybe he tried to resist for Dan’s sake, but he just couldn’t let him go, and there’s some sort of feelings reveal, whether outwardly spoken or through action or just understanding. I don’t want Dan to have come back too wrong, but maybe every now and then they have to take special measures to keep him okay, whether it’s more reagent or some other drug, or something Herbert has to do (and if that's a sexy thing, well, okay!).
  • Maybe in a situation like that sex as some sort of release it what keeps everything humming along, or maybe Dan has to drink blood like a vampire, or Herbert has to let him beat the shit out of him or something. Or he has kill someone to provide fresh blood and tissue, and has to assure Dan he only kills people who deserve to die. Maybe he’s much more discerning than he might have been with other experiments, because he knew Dan would want that.
  • I think it’d be interested if Dan comes back perfectly fine and slowly discovers at least a few years have passed. Maybe Herbert kept his body preserved somehow until he could perfect he formula, and was trying to ease Dan into the truth by pretending he was making great strides on the formula and acting like he lost time here or there, maybe as a result of a bump on the head, but Dan figures out the truth.
  • Alternately, Herbert can slowly realize he’s resurrected. Maybe at first he was wild and had to be kept in a room, and Dan used his notes and what he learned to refine the reagent, and finally has him 98% of the way there (or all the way for that matter; that’d be fine for either one, just the aftermath without the need for anything else). How does it happen, and how does Herbert react finding out Dan couldn’t let him go? In either case, one being really overprotective of the other would be lovely, like in a nearly lost him once, can’t take any chances now kind of thing.
  • If you do a story where either died and came back, please make Herbert's reagent new and improved so they're not blood-drooling monsters but relatively normal, aside from any give-away quirks or needs they have that you want to add.
  • A fix-it for the third film. Preferably a shorter time span than 13 years, maybe just a year or so has passed, and Herbert gets out of prison, either through a technicality or an escape. He goes to find Dan, not for revenge or anything, but maybe for help (if he escaped) or just to get some answers about why Dan betrayed him. But it turns out Dan only turned state’s evidence to prevent the government or some other villain from killing Herbert or worse and he hasn’t been able to contact him. Maybe Dan breaks him out and explains, even. As long as they get back together without the betrayal.
  • Or maybe Carl Hill’s head got regenerated yet again and he bat-winged his way to Dan and hypnotized him to do it, and Dan’s been under his control for the whole time while Hill’s been trying to get him to reproduce the reagent or do his bidding while he’s working on it. I’m okay with it if he took other liberties with Dan too, giving Herbert even more reason to kill him again, but just controlling his mind and making him betray Herbert would be plenty. The aftermath of Dan getting free of that control and Herbert helping him through it would be amazing.
  • If you can think of some other reason for an unwilling betrayal, I’m sure that’d be great, too. I like the idea of Herbert’s alarm when he discovers that Dan didn’t want to betray him and has been in a prison of his own the whole time, even if it’s just one of guilt.
  • Any situation where Dan carries Herbert – to bed because he’s collapsing with exhaustion; to a room where he can help him inject reagent; because he’s rescued him from someone or somewhere and he’s injured; because he’s been attacked by one of his creations. Any reason at all. I just love the caretaking.
  • The focus on their hands and hand-touching/clasping in the films sends me. So that will obviously make me happy. I also really like the idea of Herbert’s hands being injured somehow (nothing that won’t heal). Maybe involuntary spasms for a while could lead Dan to help him eat or get dressed. I think he’d handle his basic hygiene on his own even if it hurt, he’s clever enough, but helping him bathe wouldn’t be out of the question, or helping him work.
  • Herbert’s line about Dan thinking with his big head and not his little head stands out. He was so jealous of every woman who looked Dan’s way and vice-versa, but I’d like to see him and Dan both realize that as long as Dan’s thinking about him, Herbert’s fine with his little head doing some thinking. It can even be a revelation to Herbert, realizing how much he really does want Dan physically. Dan realizing that Herbert never touches anybody but him could be great. Herbert doesn’t even like to shake people’s hands, wouldn’t even touch Dan the first time they met, then quickly couldn’t stop touching him every little whipstitch. I love that.
  • If Herbert creates a new reagent, while trying to keep people from coming back crazed and wrong, and tests it on himself, and it turns out to serve as some kind of sex pollen, that would be a-okay. Especially if he’s really suffering and determined not to push himself on Dan, so Dan has to take charge to make sure he’s okay. Alternately, Dan can be the one accidentally dosed somehow, maybe a spill or something that absorbs through his skin, and Herbert has to take care of him.
  • I really like Herbert and/or Dan with their sleeves rolled up (and Herbert’s tie tucked in). Dan pulling him in by the tie for a kiss would be great, if they reach that kind of point in the relationship. Rescuing each other. Bedsharing because of nightmares or to protect the other (from someone else or themselves), hand-touching/holding, Herbert being so proud of Dan for what he’s learned and how much he can do. Anything along any of those lines will be great.
  • I'd also be happy with them facing other horrors together, like Herbert's creations coming after them, him creating some new horror that's a problem, or something else Lovecraftian causing difficulties for them.

The Last Days of Pompeii

Lydon/Sporus
Lydon/Nydia/Sporus
Glaucus/Ione//Nydia
Glaucus/Lydon
Glaucus/Lydon/Nydia

For reimagining the ending and/or writing post-canon, I'd love some Sporus lives fic! Either Lydon rescues him after his "I did love you" confession, or Sporus isn't gravely wounded and they escape together, or they escape separately and find each other later. (But if you're writing Ione/Glaucus/Nydia or Lydon/Glaucus post-canon, Sporus can never be referenced one way or another.)

Feel free to set the story pre-eruption or post-series, and include any other characters you want to. I don't want an AU outside the canon setting, but canon divergence to get characters together is, of course, perfectly fine.

One of my favorite things in the series is when Nydia, inches from the safety of Glaucus' ship, finally realizes she loves Lydon and can't go on without him. She's stumbling through the crowd, exhausted and carrying poor Chloe's baby, crying out his name and bam he's got his arms around her. Oh, that's a favorite moment of mine made all the more wonderful in the midst of so many other characters I was rooting for meeting a terrible end. It's a music-swell, misty-eyed, heart-leap kind of moment.

Some prompts:

  • I would love a moment kind of like that when Sporus and Lydon find each other, either in the panicked crowd or later during a calmer moment. Maybe one just grabs the other into a hug without even a word, necessarily, just a desperate embrace of someone they thought was lost. (If you've seen the Terror, the moment when Bridgens and Peglar are searching for each other post-carnivale fire and Bridgens sees him, makes a beeline and just squeezes the stuffing out of him is also a favorite moment of mine. I love stuff like that, so much.
  • For Lydon/Nydia/Sporus, I like basically the same things but with Nydia experiencing a softening toward Sporus or some kind of awakening, even if it's hard at first. Sporus going from jealousy to affection is a favorite theme. I would even like Lydon a little jealous of them at first when he sees them warming toward each other a little more than he'd expected, then realizing how wonderful it is. Basically all the threesome emotions that would be there without a volcano made even more intense by the tragedy.
  • Maybe instead of having to kill Gar, Sporus is ordered to spare him and Gar escapes, too. Maybe having seen the error of his ways, he tries his best to get back into Lydon's favor and that lets Sporus continue to act like a jealous sod (and if Lydon's with Nydia, he'll be doubly jealous) until Lydon has to convince him he doesn't have any reason to be jealous.
  • I also kind of like the idea of things going differently. Sporus lets Gar win, thinking it somehow a fitting end for himself after everything, or the ground rumbles just enough that he's thrown down but the crowd doesn't run, and when the senator gives a thumbs up to spare Sporus, Gar tries to kill him anyway but Sporus fights back, and maybe that's when Vesuvius explodes. Lydon looking on in horror (and ready to intervene) while waiting to see what's going to happen would be pretty awesome.
  • Or maybe he gets a thumbs-down and when Gar goes in for the kill, Lydon stops him and has to kill him in the end, breaking protocol and risking who knows what kind of consequence, but before anything else happens, Vesuvius erupts.
  • I like the idea of the scene of Gar and Sporus fighting happening earlier before the eruption by days or weeks. In that scenario, I'm fond of the idea that Lydon's in the arena but his fight is over. Sporus is thrown down by a tremor, when given the thumbs up to survive, Gar's so full of anger and hatred he tries to impale him anyway, but between Sporus struggling with him and Lydon intervening, Lydon has to kill Gar. I think afterward, Sporus seeing that Lydon would do that for him and Lydon feeling bad about it (though not regretting helping Sporus) would make for some interesting stuff when they don't have to run for their lives.
  • Any kind of Lydon/Sporus getting together scenario set before, during or after the series is welcome. There are massages and baths and wound-tending, and I'm good with something more, even if it's only a hint at feelings or a kiss, coming out of those things.
  • Glaucus/Lydon comes from that scene of Glaucus showing Lydon wrestling moves and their scene in the arena near the end when Glaucus won't fight and Lydon doesn't want to kill him. Wow, there's great tension between those two. Conversation, wrestling, Glaucus not being killed for any other reason than Vesuvius so he's there free afterward where they can admire each other's nobility in peace a bit . . . honestly anything.
  • Maybe Lydon's so irritated that Nydia's pining after a man who's obviously got eyes for Ione that he's pissed at Glaucus for not loving her back. Angry words leading to a kiss (and more if you want) where Lydon expresses his passion for Nydia with Glaucus sort of by proxy and understands even more why Nydia's so taken with him.
  • Lydon comes to visit Nydia and Glaucus can see how much he loves her. Maybe it opens his eyes to Nydia a bit and he gets a little jealous or initiates things with her and Lydon for a threesome. Or maybe Glaucus returns Nydia's affections just as she realizes she loves Lydon, and she can't choose.
  • I also like the idea that Lydon loves her so much that he tries to also love Glaucus so he can be with her, even if it means being with them together, and it turns out he has feelings for Glaucus after all. Whatever scenario you come up with works for me in getting the three of them together.
  • For Ione/Glaucus/Nydia, maybe Glaucus gets freed well before Vesuvius blows and Nydia's guilt at what she did makes her even more attentive to both of them. She could confess to Glaucus too, and of course he'll forgive her eventually, and everybody basically starts to see everybody else's charms.
  • Or unable to have Glaucus' love, or so she thinks, Nydia can't help but fall for the object of his affections, and when Glaucus' sees them together (can be sexually or just talking and laughing with each other) he realizes he has feelings for Nydia, too.

Medium Opt In: Art - In-Universe Newspaper Front Page
Medium Opt In: Writing - In-Universe Interview

This show is so much fun. I think it's a wonderful spin-off of What We Do in the Shadows, which is one of my favorite movies.

No ships, just canon friendships and working relationships. I'm looking for very canon-typical shenanigans.

Any kind of paranormal case or everyday interactions between any of these characters would be great. I love their friendships, and really how O'Leary seems to be the lead and Minogue defers to her a lot. And I love how hell can break loose and their reaction is to explain the situation calmly and say "we'd better do something about that, hadn't we?" Any casefic or just casual conversation about anything driving around in the car or in Maaka's office would work for me.

I've opted into newspaper front pages and articles because the newspaper headlines in the opening credits of the show are a scream, so I'd enjoy that kind of thing! I'd also enjoy any of the characters being interviewed and the transcripts resulting from that, whether about a specific case or in general by the camera crew.

Some prompts:

  • After exposure to some paranormal creature Minogue starts to grow a tail or horns some other bizarre thing. I can picture him trying to hide it at first and then revealing it, and O'Leary taking it in stride. How do they solve the problem, or do they?
  • They have to use a ouija board or some other device to try to contact someone who's passed on for information about a case? How crazily wrong could that go if they lose track of the letters and decipher the message incorrectly?
  • One becomes psychic and drives the other crazy by constantly saying what will happen next, but only mundane things. Girl in the coffee shop's wearing purple today, before they get there, but not that someone naked is going to dash in front of their car, or something worth predicting.
  • One gets possessed and the entity has messages show up on their skin or some other way, and they both keep interpreting the meanings wrong, but somehow fix it anyway. Or the possessed one keeps getting scolded by the others for being rude, pushy, nasty, whatever. O'Leary especially will not put up with that nonsense!
  • Minogue, Parker or Maaka gets abducted by aliens, and can't convince the others that anything truly amazing/frightening/monumental happened. O'Leary especially keeps finding rational explanations for everything.
  • Minogue or O'Leary has a girlfriend who turns out to be a monster (preferably inhuman in some way so there's no question that the relationship has to end, haha). How is it revealed and what do they do? Does the creature attack Parker and that's how they figure it out?
  • Newspaper headlines or articles that get progressively more frantic, freaked-out or conspiracy-leaning could be a lot of fun, like there's a reporter who's slowly starting to figure out all the stuff our intrepid police officers investigate on a daily basis.

Ghosts (TV 2019)

Alison/Mike & Any Button House Ghosts (Ghosts TV 2019)
Fanny Button & Captain & Humphrey & Robin & Julian & Kitty & Mary & Pat & Thomas (Ghosts TV 2019)
Julian Fawcett & Robin (Ghosts TV 2019)
Kitty & Mary (Ghosts TV)
Lady Fanny Button & The Captain (Ghosts TV 2019)
Alison & Button House Ghosts (Ghosts TV 2019)
The Captain/Original Male Character (Ghosts TV 2019)
Pat Butcher/The Captain (Ghosts TV 2019)
Pat Butcher & The Captain (Ghosts TV 2019)

I love everything about this show. Canon-typical shenanigans would be great!

  • I love Alison/Mike navigating their way through life with all the ghosts around them, and how the ghosts interact with Mike and talk to him even though he can't see them, especially Julian and The Captain. Any situation where they try to communicate with him would be great, as would them sending messages through Alison which she might or might not want to deliver verbatim.
  • I adore The Captain's friendship and kinship with Pat. They have so much in common. I am happy with friendship or deeper feelings starting to show themselves. I just love how they interact on the show.
  • God, the camping. Maybe the Captain and Pat convince Alison to set up a tent for them even when she and Mike don't intend to camp so they can sleep in a tent outdoors do camping things like sit around a small campfire and tell ghost stories (ha). Sometimes the other ghosts join them and sometimes it's just the two of them.
  • I feel like even though Pat gets after him about the war being over he'd be interested in specific stories about the troops and protocols and stuff because it's so similar to scouting, and vice versa. I can see The Captain listening rapt to some camping stories he hasn't heard before. Ghosts can clearly still get spooked, so maybe noises they can't identify bring back memories of boyhood and being with friends and scaring themselves while in the woods or something. Just bonding with or without deeper romantic feelings, that's all.
  • I love how nobody pushes anybody else into things they're not ready for (Mary's death story, Kitty's sister, Cap's sexuality). But it'd be great if the Captain slipped up and said something to or in front of Pat that he immediately regretted (maybe a comment about the handsomeness of someone on TV) and Pat agrees with him, maybe says something else along those lines, and rolls with it, putting the Captain's fears of anyone knowing to rest.
  • I really feel like ghosts and humans alike should have made a bigger deal about The Captain jumping on that bomb. Of course he's incorporeal to everything but other ghosts and couldn't be harmed, but he didn't think about that or he wouldn't have bothered to uselessly throw himself on it. He, in essence, was ready to give his life for theirs. I think that act of bravery is surely worthy of a small ceremony and badge. Maybe he can put it next to his teamwork badge.
  • He could tell Pat about Havers in a way that Pat figures it out, and it's obvious he has, and it's just a moment of confession and comfort, whether friendshippy or shippy. Maybe The Captain clearly wants to say the truth and has so much trouble with it that Pat encourages him to say what he felt about Havers in Morse Code, because they discovered that everybody absolutely does not know Morse Code, and The Captain is able to say that he loved him that way. I think that would be a sweet and poignant moment.
  • I want The Captain to continue to give horrible names to things, like their Cocktail Social he called Cock Soc, and Pat to try to get him to stop with no luck.
  • Maybe The Captain catches Pat practicing his dance moves or learning a new dance to teach Kitty and joins in. He was cutting a pretty good rug at the wedding, after all. Them dancing would be such a great scene. Any moment where one comforts the other, or they offer mutual comfort, over something sad about their lives or afterlives, as long as it ends in a smile (no sad endings please).
  • I love Mary and Kitty's moments on the show, so anything between them would be great. Them trying to keep a running list of the items stolen was hilarious. Basically, Mary translating anything Kitty says into her vernacular is funny as heck.
  • I also have a soft spot for Julian and Robin's friendship, whether they're playing chess or hanging out together, getting spooked in the dark, just anything.
  • Fanny and The Captain obviously have a level of friendship and respect that's special, and they share a dark sense of humor, so anything exploring that would be great. Given his repressed sexuality and the reasons for George murdering her, they could have some really interesting, moving and enlightening conversations, I think.
  • The Captain being attracted to living men who come into Button House is something I love. The way he reacted to the director, not just ogling him but standing alongside him and issuing orders he knew nobody could hear, then defending him to the others and insisting they give him respect and support. He's just so pure in his way. Let him flirt (even though the other guy doesn't know) with contractors or wedding guests or pizza delivery people or whomever.
  • For ensemble stuff, playing Twister, Thomas giving a poetry reading and the rest trying to be supportive, Kitty and Pat showing off their dance moves, Mary finally telling her story, trying to find a way to keep Humphrey's head attached (maybe Julian suggests they sew it on like Frankenstein's monster to see if it'll stick or Robin just says the obvious, that Humphrey needs to carry it to avoid it getting lost and everyone is amazed--Robin may have the poorest modern language skills, but he's the wisest overall, IMO), Pat giving Morse Code lessons or pretending to DJ more. Really, anything you think sounds like fun.

Yonderland

Debbie Maddox & Negatus (Yonderland)
Debbie Maddox/Negatus (Yonderland)
The Elders & Debbie Maddox (Yonderland)
Scribe Elder Ho-Tan/Wise Elder Vex (Yonderland)
Scribe Elder Ho-Tan/Wise Elder Vex & Debbie Maddox (Yonderland)
Demon Jeff/Demon Neil (Yonderland)
Rioter/Rioter's Cousin (Yonderland)

I love this show and will enjoy anything you write in the same tone. I'm a big fan of everything The Six Idiots do, and I get such a kick out of how many little things go on in the background of some of the scenes from this show. You can really include any characters you want to and I'll love it.

I love Negatus' softer, redeemable side, and how dumb and sweet the demons can be. Jeff's my favorite demon. I also love Wise Elder Vex (Deb-beh!), and trans Scribe Elder Ho-Tan and their briefly granted wish that no one mocked to physically be a woman, and how accepting everyone is of everything LGBTQ from the start.

Some prompts:

  • Any moment with Debbie where Negatus is working hard to be evil and has a change of heart, with or without the help of the demons, would be great. Debbie as the voice of reason among the Elders, or any moment between Ho-Tan and Vex would be as welcome.
  • Negatus rescuing Debbie from Imperatrix or some other threat, or simply being kind (even as he gripes about it and is uncomfortable with these new feeeeeelings).
  • For Debbie/Negatus, I him having some one-sided pining and/or her seeing and appreciating his better nature, which makes him happy. I see her as quite faithful to her husband, and any real love feeling from Negatus and being ultimately unrequited, but maybe her warming to friendship with him and him having regrests and feelings can help make him less of a shit.
  • Maybe Negatus has Debbie prisoner but agrees to let her go if she can solve some sort of puzzle, she picks Sudoku, he becomes fascinated and starts solving with her. Them bonding over basically anything.
  • I think Negatus acting as a counselor and listening while the demons (adding Rita is fine) vent about an interpersonal conflict and him being earnest about helping but giving terrible advice (Perhaps you should stab him?) could be hilarious. Him as relationship counselor for Jeff/Neil, oh lord. Does Jeff get to kiss Neil like he offered? I thought that was adorable.
  • Debbie having to referee for a big argument with the Elders would be great, too. Doesn’t matter if it’s over the fate of all of Yonderland, how to make a proper apology for wanting to eat Trevor, or how they can manage to keep Vice-Elder Flowers clothed (and should they even bother?). Anything with at least a couple of the Elders and Debbie works for me.
  • Does Ho-Tan get jealous of the woman flirting with Vex at Debbie's Christmas party and so try to make their feelings clear afterward? Does Vex get a little jealous of someone who's warming up to Ho-Tan? I'd love to see some flirting and feelings realization, sweetly flirty, and as goofy as they always are. Vex brushing Ho-Tan's hair would be lovely.
  • Any situation where Vex tells or expresses to Ho-Tan what a beautiful woman they are in their special Vex way (especially after Ho-Tan has reverted post-wish and is disappointed) can never go wrong.
  • Okay, Ben Willbond kissing Larry Rickard twice as the kissing cousins tickled me so much. More excuses for Ben's character to kiss Larry's character, and maybe Larry's character gets less shocked each time. Pining backstory for Ben's character leading up to the first kiss and beyond would be great, too.
  • Genuinely any of the characters that appeared on the show would be fine. I love the whole thing, start to finish.

Things I Like

  • Friendship, found families, loyalty, love, deep emotional connections, devotion, displays of affection and respect
  • Third person POV
  • Missing scenes and fix-its, as well as case-fic and plotty stories
  • Protectiveness and characters sacrificing their own comforts to help others
  • Mutual pining with a happy ending, unrequited love finally realized
  • Hurt/comfort, especially things like one comforting another after a nightmare, tending wounds, caring for them when they're ill or injured, hovering after something traumatic and trying to take their mind off things
  • Tropes like oh my god there's only one bed and every other possible bedsharing scenario, fake couple/marriage for whatever reasons to real romance, forced proximity and bonus if there’s peril
  • First kiss, first realization of feelings
  • Humor, snark and banter, laughing and joking with each other
  • Flirting/pining/UST, and getting together fic (I do like established relationship in shorter <500 or even <1000 word stories or any length when the couple is canon)
  • Happy or at least hopeful endings
  • Porn with feelings and emotional or romantic sex
  • Possessiveness and a little jealousy
  • First times
  • Dubcon in some fandoms/pairings (I'll mention it)
  • Desperate kisses and one or both partners overwhelmed with passion and feelings
  • Manhandling and displays of strength, up against the wall sex
  • Kneeling (any reason but especially for oral sex or to kiss knees or thighs or anything like that, grand)
  • Penetrative sex, oral sex, fingers, frottage, mutual masturbation or one watching the other
  • Naked and half-naked or one clothed and the other naked, basically any combo of clothed/not clothed
  • Necking, petting, face and neck and body stroking, kissing and/or sucking or licking pretty much anywhere
  • I really like up against the wall, taken from behind, and one riding the other, but any positions are fine
  • Thank god you're/we're alive sex
  • One character being suddenly so overcome with feeling and desire for the other they kiss them and initiate things out of the blue, like they can't wait another second--love those big music swell moments
  • Light hair-pulling or ass-slapping when appropriate in the heat of the moment
  • With appropriate pairings, like vampires, blood drinking and/or licking blood off the other’s mouth, face, neck, etc. can’t go wrong
  • I like stories with no sex, fade-to-black, or full-on smut, so write whatever level you prefer. You can also split the difference and focus more on the emotions than a blow-by-blow what's going where sort of story if you want.

DNWs:

  • Anything pandemic-related including references to it, anything political including references and people's names (unless in a historic context, like George Washington)
  • A/B/O, genderswapping
  • Mundane and different setting AU (college, coffee shop, different time period, in space, etc), but canon settings with a key difference like vampires or psychics exist and people know, zombies have come, things like those are fine within the canon setting. And minor canon divergence to get non-canon couples together or see what happens if they go left instead of right are fine.
  • Script format with only each speaker's name and dialogue, lapslock, unconventional capitalization and punctuation unless for canon/plot reasons
  • Unhappy and otherwise bleak endings
  • First and second person POV except in epistolary/journal format, original or unrequested character's outsider POV
  • Kidfic and pregnancy-related fic, including mpreg
  • Unrequested gender identity or sexuality headcanons, a focus on gender identity or sexuality, teach-me-a-lesson fic
  • Surprise serious illness, character death, as well as cruelty to animals/animal death, infidelity, partner betrayal
  • Holiday stories, unrequested crack/parodies, unrequested crossovers
  • Non-con, underage
  • Oviposition, eggs, sex to cause pregnancy or mpreg, feeding to cause weight gain, inflations, dehumanization and extreme objectification, body horror-related sex
  • Sex toys, BDSM, fisting, insertions and things like pain, torture, spitting, choking and hitting (more than a playful slap on the ass)
  • Elimination-related kinks (enemas, urine, etc.)
  • Characters calling each other daddy, baby boy/girl, slut, bitch, whore mommy or similar during sex, unless it's a canon pet name. Generic dirty talk, daddy and mommy kinks in general
  • A focus on bodily fluids or excretions except sweat, tears and where mentioned, blood; come play or eating (swallowing after oral sex is fine)

To clarify on the surprise serious illness, things like referencing canon trauma is fine but someone having a stroke or a life-threatening non-canon disease is a big no. Injuries are different. A character could get shot in something like a hurt/comfort or casefic scenario, things like broken bones, wounds (physical and mental) and even more minor injuries are fine as long as they'll heal.
