FFFX Letter
Hey, FFFX writer!
I'm CousinShelley at AO3.
Thank you in advance for writing one of these fandoms for me! I've given some prompts, many in some cases, but you don't have to use any of them. Also, some fandoms generate a lot of specific ideas, especially if I've requested them a lot, and others are more general. A shorter prompt list than some others doesn't mean I love or want a fandom any less.
All of my requests are ship-based, but I enjoy stories with pining and flirting that lead to obvious returned feelings, all the feelings and romantic gestures, kissing and cuddling and holding each other as much as stories with sex.
I also enjoy stories with sex, so if your story calls for it and you want to write it, please do! Just don't ever think I'll be disappointed without it. I won't, as long as the feelings are there.

The Exorcist
Marcus Keane/Tomas Ortega
Marcus Keane/Tomas Ortega & Devon Bennett
I love that Marcus and Tomas are both flawed but strong and fit so well together, as friends and brothers in arms, and in my view the UST screams out of the TV. I do want more than friendship, hence the /, but sex isn't required for me to be all heart-eyes about it. I don't care whether you choose S1 or S2 or go post-canon, with a new take on something that's already happened or a brand new situation altogether.
I'm always up for them saving Bennett post S-2 if you want to add him. Lord, somebody save Devon Bennett. But if he's still the longsuffering advisor to them at any point previously, that would also be great. If you want to throw other characters like Mouse, the Regos, the Rances or Andy and any of the kids from S2, that's perfectly fine.
What I'd like most is to maintain that kind of thing that shows their friendship and devotion, and the more hand-clasping and nape-touching you can get in there, the better.
Fandom-specific DNWs: Don't make god a hero in the story. No divine intervention that saves the day, please. And no Marcus/Tomas/Devon or anybody else. References to Marcus/Peter are fine as long as what he felt and their kiss serve to open him up to being with Tomas, but I don't want it a focus or him pining for Peter. Marcus/Peter can even be in the story (Hey, I liked Peter!) but I'd want there only as a way for Marcus to realize what he really wants, which is Tomas.
Prompts for ideas, but feel free to write something else!
- Marcus doesn't leave Tomas at the end but stays to help him through what will surely be some post-demon PTSD. Okay, I want there to be post-demon PTSD, not sorry. The hurt/comfort is strong with these two.
- love nightmares and the hurt caused by them especially when there's someone close to by to offer comfort afterward. A dream or series of them where first-season dark Marcus is whispering things in Tomas' ear would be good, too. Or possessed-Marcus does it when awake, and it can lead to some sort of seduction or not, dubconny in the no-no-yes vein or not (but no non-con). How would they deal with it afterward? Even a situation where it almost happens but doesn't is ripe for some great introspection and character/relationship stuff.
- I really like the idea of one or the other having those intense dreams where the other menaces them in the sexiest of ways, and each night the dreams escalate, and they start to have trouble separating reality from their dreams when they wake up so they might do or say things that would not be forward with the dream other but are unexpected in real life, and the one not affected has to suss out what's going on.
- If god could convince Marcus that loving someone and expressing that through sex wouldn't make him less an exorcist, that'd be really great. Tomas might point out that he'd know if that were evil with his newfound skills and all.
- Just about anything--post-exorcism conversation and comfort (I loved the bar scene at the end of season 1), navigating each other's spaces, a story about something they did together between S1 and S2, investigating the church.
- Any hurt/comfort scenario, expansion on any episode from either season, or any situation where one or the other is possessed and fighting it to keep from hurting the other and has to be exorcised. I truly love that stuff.
- A lighter story that involves Marcus teaching Tomas his ways, maybe with Tomas messing up quite a lot, and them not entirely exhausted all the time or in danger would be great, too. As long as there's obvious shippy affection between them, even if they're both fighting it, and lots of touching and standing far too close together, I'm down.
- I love Devon Bennett and his relationship to both of them. His relationship with Marcus especially is so affectionate he can't even hide it when he's furious or exasperated. More of that.(And honestly, I like him yelling at Marcus, so if you write him, let him give a good righteous well-earned holler at Marcus least once.)
- An episode-like plot where they have to exorcise someone and Bennett is there to help would be fantastic.
- Dubcon where the demons decide that helping/pushing Marcus and Tomas to get together will destroy them through guilt or whatever, but nope, it just makes them stronger (after some initial guilt and hand-wringing, probably).
- Maybe post-show Marcus never leaves or goes back to Tomas (with or without Mouse) and together they find Bennett and save him. I know he's integrated but maybe he can be an exception and get saved. It can be done! I like the idea that in the course of an exorcism lots of Bennett's past with Marcus comes out and gets used against them like things said in anger or the demon trying to convince Marcus and Tomas things that aren't true like how Bennett feels about them or him sabotaging them with the church or something. It would also be difficult for Bennett because he has the memory of killing at least one person we know of in the hospital.
- Maybe Bennett, possessed and fighting it enough to function somewhat normally most of the time, joins them to help with something while they figure out how to save him from integration.
- Maybe pre-s2 ending Bennett's there to help save one of them, whether through an exorcism or some other scenario, like one kidnapped by the demonically possessed or trapped in a situation like the showdown with the demon inside Angela Rance. Any hurt scenario really, supernatural or not.
- Or either Tomas or Marcus hurt and in the hospital--I'm amazed most of the show wasn't one of them recuperating in a hospital bed, frankly--and Bennett is there comforting the other while they wait and just being a good friend (I love him, so anything he's in will be great).
Evil (TV 2019)
David Acosta & Kristen Bouchard & Ben Shakir & Karima Shakir
David Acosta/Kristen Bouchard/Ben Shakir
Ben Shakir & Karima Shakir
Monsignor Matthew Korecki/Father Frank Ignatius
An Evil story can be super dark, creepy, full-bore horror, but I'd prefer it not end dark or bleak. I like happy or at least hopeful endings.
Don't feel constrained by my prompts. Feel free to write something else!
- Canon-typical shenanigans with David, Kristen, and Ben would be great, whether missing scenes from the show or something new. I love the way they interact, period.
- Anything that demonstrates the love, respect and trust between any of the mains. Like when Ben made the deep fake of Leland for Kristen, just trusting what she said to be true, and how she trusted him to do that. And how Ben works for David, not the church, because he trusts and cares about David. How David confided in Kristen about the mushrooms and how they have this thing going on between them. Anything highlighting trust and loyalty would be so great.
- I chose both the & and / for these three, and I'll honestly enjoy either. If you opt for / it can be with or without actual sex. I like flirting, sexual tension, and heavy foreshadowing that they'll get together in the future, if you don't want to write sex. So no worries there! And if you can't work Karima into the & ensemble, that's okay as long as the main three are there. Just at least give her an affectionate mention from Ben somewhere.
- The season that just ended raises all sorts of possibility, and I'm totally okay if they have a threesome that turns out to only be part of David's hallucination. In fact, I really really like that idea, especially with him having lustful thoughts after while he's around them knowing what's happening at night isn't real and struggling to stop thinking about it, wanting it and taking part in it when the opportunity arises.
- If you write sex, it can be 100% consensual or under-the-influence of something and I'll enjoy it either way. Just please make it natural and spontaneous without negotiations or rules or "formal" agreements, even if it's a stone-cold sober decision. No discussion at all would work, too.
- I love dubcon, so it can be dubcon all day long, but please no outright noncon between these characters. However, one or more can feel guilty as if they nonconned one or both of the others, as long as that's resolved by the end.
- Along those lines, maybe they're influenced by demons or some force that thinks having them all together will destroy their relationships, but of course it has the opposite effect. The devil can think that some dubcon threesome where they double-team Kristen or where David or Ben has sex with the other is going to make them avoid each other, but joke's on you, bad guy, they secretly wanted it anyway, so there.
- Maybe David and Kristen could be in another scenario like at the farm and Ben shows up, and that's how it happens. Maybe he shows up in that episode, the night David and Kristen first kissed, and things ensue. Any situation like that's going to be good by me.
- The three of them can also be together without any sex as long as there's some serious flirting going on and maybe the implication that things are going to happen between them eventually, whether they're influenced by something or not. Pig pile them any which way. And of course the three of them in & relationships is good, too!
- The end of the season was devastating. More insight into them comforting Kristen when she told them about Andy, how she goes to them immediately after the end of the season (because surely she did run to tell them) and how they react.
- The scenes from the Demon of the Road where they're in the car, singing and hanging out and just being best friends? I love that kind of thing, so more of that would be great.
- I'd love to see a scene where Ben just doesn't take in the information about Leland being on a child's app in quite so much stride but instead asks more questions and learns the whole story then informs Kristen and David, and what they might think and do about that. Ben and the kids are one of my favorite things, and him being something they trust to tell things even more, so if you want to go there, feel free!
- I'm fine if they all, or two of the three, get dosed with David's mushrooms and either get sexy with each other or reveal shippy feelings to each other, or have some epiphanies about spiritual things or a case specifically, depending on where you want to take things.
- By the way, I don't expect any other characters than the ones nominated, but if you want to throw some in, be my guest. i love all the characters, especially Sister Andrea (the scene with her beating the hell out of demons while having normal conversation was fantastic and funny), I'm so relieved about Andy, and love to hate Leland and Sheryl (damn, Sheryl, just damn, are you even redeemable now? I had such hopes for you).
- Letting the three pick up where the season ends and taking it in whatever direction you want, or focusing more on a single case they had or a new one would be great too. I'd also love to hear Ben's and Kristen's take on the magical glowing vagina-like portal (I can't help thinking that every time) that opens in the sky filled with saints in David's visions.
Ben & Karima
- I also really, really love Ben's relationship with Karima, so if we matched on them, I'm still ingtrigued by what the smart home device said about her baby being with the Muslim equivalent of the devil and her just refusing to discuss it with him, so exploring that could be interesting, especially since we got to see a lot more of their relationship this season \o/.
- Maybe Ben marvels over Karima's hacking skills in any situation, or is visibly proud of her to David and Kristen, or just them bantering over anything.
- I LOVE Karima helping Ben figure stuff out. More Ben and Karima at the Super Secret Science League. Ben telling her about the elevator game and confessing that it's messed him up, and her comforting him. (I'd love to see him telling her about it and her freaking out about almost losing him with them both still not quite believing it all. Sibling high-vies and hugs! Bitching at each other! Arguing and making up! More Ben and Karima being close siblings, period.
- Karima sleeping over because they're so involved in whatever mystery they're trying to unravel or supernatural thing they're trying to debunk and experiencing something unexplainable in his apartment (seeing the succubus? Finding a retainer? Thinking she sees a demon?) or Karima meeting Ben's ex who appears to have killed the spirit of her twin and giving him her no-nonsense opinion (same with finding out about the gal he slept with at the cult compound). I just love them so much. Anything.
Matthew/Frank
I fell in love with them as soon as Frank showed up and Matt was so concerned, and then Frank's surprise kiss after he didn't die! And Frank going somewhere else because it was better if they weren't around each other. And of course, the feelings running both ways confirmed in the worst of ways. :(
I'm not looking for explicit sex with these two but hand-holding, kissing, or sex that's not explicitly described would be fine. More intimacy than individual acts, if that makes sense, though I'm fine with a completely PG story, too.
- I'd love to see awkward moments from their earliest years in the seminary where it was clear they wanted to but couldn't/didn't. Awkward flirting that couldn't lead anywhere, hands brushing, secret smiles and all the pining and longing would be fantastic. How did they end up loving one another a little too much? All those little moments that lead to something bigger would be great.
- I think it'd be great to see Matthew's anguish that Frank is dying and everything he may have said or felt leading up to the experiment where he inexplicably lived. Even if it's just his private journals rather than anything he said out loud.
- How they decided it would be best if Matt went to another parish, whether one pushed for him staying there and one realized they wouldn't be able to resist, or if they both knew it would be impossible to stay chaste if they saw each other every day.
- It'd be great if the story ended with Matthew still alive. Either before his death or a fix-it where he's hurt but lives and Frank sees him the next day in the hospital or recuperating and expresses his fear and relief without holding back. Frank breaking down the way he did (oh, my heart) because he thinks Matthew will die and then he lives would be great.
- If it's a fix-it, I'd be interested to see them navigate Frank decided to stay and help with the assessors' projects, and Matthew agreeing, because they've both cheated death and maybe that's some kind of sign that they shouldn't waste the borrowed time they have left.
- An epistolary story made up of mostly letters they've written each other over the years could be really great for showing their relationship and forbidden feelings, too.
Our Flag Means Death
Izzy Hands/Spanish Jackie
Izzy Hands/Evelyn Higgs
Stede Bonnet/Edward Teach & Mary Bonnet
I love this show with my whole heart. If you want to throw in any canon pairings or other characters, feel free, but I don't expect that.
Izzy Hands/Spanish Jackie
- Anything from conversation to smut, really. I like the idea of Jackie only agreeing to help Izzy with a little extra incentive that includes sex, and whether it's all for her or they both get something out of it doesn't really matter to me.
- And I really like the idea of Jackie picking up on Izzy's undying devotion to Edward and showing him what he's missing out on by holding out for someone who's not going to be with him. The idea of him being touch-starved and her fixing that and giving him some praise (especially while also being a bit bossy and rough), sounds fantastic to me. A little knife or swordfight to determine what happens? Winner gets what they want, or something? I really just want her to put him in his place, and for him to like it a lot, whether it's sexual or not.
- Maybe Izzy hangs out at her bar longer than necessary because he's so upset about Edward and they bond. He probably thinks her nose jar serves as a good disincentive for people to buck her authority, and maybe he admires her harem of husbands because she's clearly a take-charge kind of person. Maybe he's a good listener about all the shit she goes through with her husbands or the trials of running that bar. I think the idea of one of them giving the other advice (probably really bad advice that always leans toward violence or something) in some sort of mutual therapy session would be fantastic.
- I also like them becoming unexpected friends via mutual admiration and respect, and it's fine if there's flirting and attraction (or not) that's not acted on. Helping each other out in various situations as a sign of friendship. I love both characters, so I'm pretty easy. Have them together in some way, platonically or not, and I'll look forward to it.
Izzy Hands/Evelyn Higgins
- This has a similar dynamic for me. I just adore her, and I think she and Izzy would like each other and she would also instantly give zero fucks what he thinks, because she's a tough one, and I love that.
- I don't know how the hell they'd meet, maybe Ed disappeared in search of Stede after he got over his heartache instead of breaking bad, so Izzy goes in search of him in Stede's town and meets Evelyn, or they run into each other at any point, even post-canon or pre-Stede, for some reason.
- I like the idea of Izzy teaching her some sword moves, maybe to protect herself, or them committing murder together. Murder as bonding! Maybe someone's threatening Evelyn and they take care of the problem. Izzy dispatches an annoying ex or helps her to do it because he's a gentleman in many ways and can't stand men who mistreat women?
- I also like the idea that when meet they can't stand each other and just insult the hell out of each other, but their arguing and/or murderous exploits lead to friendship and/or feelings.
- I think Izzy has a subby side and would probably like the other to take charge when they're intimate, and I think Evelyn probably knows exactly what she wants, so I think they'd be incredibly hot together. Not looking for formal stuff, just a woman who knows what she needs and knows exactly how to get it and a man relieved to be able to give it to her.
- Maybe at some point Izzy meets her because he's been tasked with killing her as some kind of old debt or favor or something. She's clearly been up to some shit and maybe have a couple of enemies. I'd like him to not intend to kill a woman, but convince her to use a different name and go somewhere else, but maybe he ends up admiring her so much he turns on the person who wanted her dead?
- It could also be interesting if when they meet Evelyn assumes here's there pursuing a woman who scorned him and she intends to be an obstacle every step of the way, because reasons. When she finds out he's looking for a man, she can find him a lot more interesting. Of if he's there for any other reason, her making bad assumptions about him at first that give way to a less threatening reality would be great. I just think a story with these two badasses at the center, whether friends or lovers, would be a amazing. Throw them together in whatever way!
Edward Teach & Mary Bonnet
Writing these prompts, I mistakenly thought the tag was Stede Bonnet/Edward Teach & Mary Bonnet. I'm leaving those prompts in, because you can just leave Stede out. But if you want to write him too, please feel free! I love Blackbonnet and I love Mary, so however you want to do it is fine.
I think Edward and Mary would become fast friends. I want them to be friends, whether it's a canon divergence or post-canon story.
- I don't have that many ideas for this, but I like the idea of a canon divergence where instead of running away, Stede meets Ed but decides he needs to go home and make things right before they run off to China. They go so he can make peace with his decisions and Ed and Mary become besties.
- I like the idea that she thinks he's just a friend and slowly discovers that Stede and Ed are in love because they can't seem to keep from giving themselves away. She sees the looks and little touches and figures it out.
- Also, maybe instead of going dark at the end of S1, Ed decides he's going to find Stede himself (maybe to give him a piece of his mind for closure at first, then in hopes of getting him back - I'm okay with him being righteously pissed for a while). Maybe he shows up and surprises Stede and pretends to be a friend for Mary's sake. He stays with them while he and Stede are working things out and he and Mary bond. I really like the idea of Stede realizing how alike they are in many ways and admiring Mary more than ever (because she's awesome) and falling more in love with Ed. Eventually they work it out and Mary cottons onto the truth about them, and is just as happy for him as she was in S1. I just really want Ed to be amazed by her, like the kids, and not be jealous of anything but maybe the lifestyle, but not Stede's relationships. Of course, angst about asking Stede to give all that up for him and wondering if he should/would for a little while is encouraged, as long as he knows he's the most important thing in the end.
- I'm also fine with Ed bonding with Doug and thinking he's great, and/or intimidating the hell out of anybody there who ever mocked or bullied Stede.
- It could be interesting if Mary gets Ed into painting, like he really thinks she's talented, and his paintings are either dark past things like the Kraken or stormy seas or maybe the opposite, all bright, light, sweet things like butterflies and birds. Or both, depending. Art as therapy for Ed, without that intention necessarily, could be a lot of fun.
- I'm also alright with full Kraken Ed showing up with the intention of killing Mary if Stede ran back to her in some angry rage, but once he meets her he discovers he really, really likes her and changes his mind. Maybe Stede has already left to find him so he arrives when it's Mary, Doug and the kids, Mary having no idea who he is, at least at first, and they bond
- Any scenario you can think of to get Ed to meet and love Mary (and her to love him) is fine by me.
Boondock Saints
Connor MacManus/Murphy MacManus
Oh man, the me-and-you-against-the-world of these two is everything. I like them rough and loud and just as they are in canon, but their brotherly love just goes a little further. I like that they're as devoted to protecting each other as they are their mission, and nobody better get in the way or hurt the other.
Any other characters you want to throw in are welcome. I like them all, especially Rocco and Romeo.
- I like scenarios where one or both are in peril and one has to be the rescuer, and I really like one being hurt somehow and the other having to find and save them. I'm fine with physical violence and that kind of trauma, but please don't have either one be raped and need to recover from that. I'm okay if part of the trauma was thinking that would happen, or if maybe it's about to but the rescue prevents it. I also don't mind if one thinks it did happen to the other for a while and later is assured that it was just a beatdown, but please no actual non-con.
- And one of my favorite kinds of trauma here is one thinking the other is dying or dead. I can never get enough of that kind of thing, both the anguish and then the joy on discovering it's not true, and all the strong feelings that come with both.
- Any amount of whump heaped upon one or both is fine by me, let the bloody punches fly, as long as there's comfort after the hurt and no injury will be disabling/permanent. One offering himself up to be kidnapped or held hostage or something in place of the other, one just going feral in his need to protect and save the other, one bandaging the other up, such good stuff.
- I'm also a fan of plain old smut. I really like the dream sharing which is kind of canon leading to something, one waking the other with sexy things. They can be established as together already or make the first moves toward it, I don't care. Almost anything is fine.
- I'm also totally okay with no sex at all, just bickering the way they do with a little extra tension that makes their attraction obvious, fighting and protecting each other, rescue, whump, post-canon prison escape hijinks with or without Romeo or ay other characters, pre-canon shenanigans. As long as they're everything to each other as in the canon, it's great.
- I like the idea of them getting captured by someone who wants revenge for somebody they killed, and one having to deal with the other one going first and thinking this it is, and Romeo or Rocco bringing help to rescue them. Dealing with the aftermath of one of them being badly hurt while the other was helpless is just fantastico.
- Humorous moments are great too, like Connor trying to ice his balls and them ending up on the floor on the phone with their mother. When the gun went off while they sat around the table at Rocco's (though please no animal harm). Like when they were playing pool at Doc's and just fucking around. They're just a lot of fun for me.
- I wish I had better specific prompts, but really anything from a day-in-the-life to bar fights to enemies finding them and any excuse for them to have each other's backs will be golden.
Midnight Mass
Angel/Riley Flynn/Father Paul Hill | Monsignor John Pruitt
Mildred Gunning/Father Paul Hill | Monsignor John Pruitt
The things I like about Angel/Riley/Paul Hill range from introspection and feelings about what's happened/happening, a deep desire to help and be helped, and genuine religious devotion and love toward the other, all the way to the horniest scenarios complete with blood drinking and biting. I'm really okay if the Angel is only in parts of the story and it focuses on Riley/Paul Hill.
I don't need a happy forever after for these pairings with this fandom. An ambiguous or open ending is fine, but I'd prefer it end before the canon so it's not too bleak a note to stop on.
Angel/Riley/Paul Hill
- Paul's thoughts after waking up in the cave. What exactly did he think happened, how did he justify everything, and any creeping doubts he prayed away would be great. He seems like a smart guy with almost too much compassion who got caught up in the religious fervor of his beliefs. This fascinates me, so anything set at any point after he encounters the angel along those lines leading to Riley's turning and the aftermath would be great. I don't expect you to do the whole history or anything, I'm just saying if you want to explore that, feel free!
- I'm also a sucker for the erotic aspects of what happened, so his thoughts and feelings about that would be great. Did he dread the Angel coming to him to give him blood, and presumably (hopefully) take some or take his body in return? (Dubcon is great, but no noncon please.) Did he start to crave it? He was desperate in the show for the Angel to appear, but how much of that was the blood supply running low and how much was needing its attentions?
- Did Paul try to protect Mildred, Sarah, Riley, or anybody else from the worst parts of the Angel's attentions. Any deals he tried to make with it or bargains with God? I feel like he started out with such pure motives, and man, I love how that got corrupted over time, forcing him to come to grips with what he did later.
- You can wallow in guilt here if you want, over the guilt of his desires, the guilt of his joy at being young again and watching people restored to youth and better health, the guilt of wanting the Angel to feed from him or use his body. And Riley's guilt about the accident and about how his family must feel are fair game. Maybe his guilt after being made a vampire who could potentially be immortal after he killed that young woman in the car accident. Lots of good stuff to deal with there. But I don't want him to do what he did in the show and traumatize poor Erin by burning up in front of her, holy shit, nooo. Please leave his canon suicide out and let him decide to live and just deal with his guilt. Being part of a strange sympathetic (parasitic?) relationship with the Angel and Paul Hill might be reason enough?
- Interactions or discussions with the Angel we didn't get to see. It does seem to have some sort of regard for Paul, and I'd like that to be more than Paul being his ticket to that island, even if only a little. Maybe when Riley becomes a vampire thanks to the Angel, its regard (affection, even?) for these humans becomes clear. (I think it really wanted to be worshipped, and killing off its flock wouldn't help that cause, so I feel like it wants to preserve rather than kill all the humans.)
- You can explore Riley's and Paul's AA meeting conversations before Riley was turned, and maybe deal with the attraction coming through during those one-on-one conversations, before involving the angel. Or deal with the actual attack that turned him and Paul's involvement, or the aftermath.
- Forced proximity where Riley has to stay with Paul longer than in canon, and one thing leads to another, and hey, the Angel reappears because reasons. Paul taking care of Riley, involving bedsharing and very deliberate attention. Riley taking an offered wrist and feeding, and the eroticism of that. Him waking with Paul feeding from him and it becoming just a horny thing neither can control. Maybe the Angel is pleased by all this.
- Maybe Paul has to take him out at night to let him feed, and has to deal with the erotic feelings at watching Riley feed from someone. Or the Angel shows up and things happen between all three. I'm pretty easy there.
- I'm open to anything from tense and heated conversation to smut here, and while I do want Riley and Paul to care about each other (and I believe they do) one or both can be conflicted, guilty, uncertain about all of it. Maybe pushed further than they would go otherwise by the more primal presence of the Angel.
Mildred Gunning/John Pruitt | Paul Hill
I wasn't surprised by any of the de-aging because the aging makeup was, frankly, so obvious from the first moment. So when Paul went to Mildred's house to do mass, I thought at the very least they knew each other as young people, and then within seconds I knew he at least had a flame for her. And when it all came out later, how deeply he loved her that he would have given up the priesthood with a single word, that they had a daughter, that some of his motivation was keeping her alive, oh man. My heart.
I'm here for all the sweet, innocent, awkward courting, the guilt, the accidental hand brushes and more deliberate touches they manage and think nobody sees, from their first meeting to the first kiss, any of that stuff will tickle me.
I am also here for all the damn heat, because look at them. Undying affection alone did not get them to the point of having a secret daughter. Give me their first encounter, the push/pull, the denial, the struggle to resist, and then them giving in. Was it once and never again? Did they try to resist but kept finding each other for weeks, months, or years?
I am down for everything from sweet fairly innocent courting to hot, sweaty sex and heaps of Catholic guilt, but without the ability to resist doing it again. And while I am really obsessed with their original relationship and affair, them coming together again during canon after she's de-aged and before all the tragedy? Oh man, yes.
And if they didn't fuck in the confessional at least once, they missed an opportunity. Just saying.
A few prompts that you don't have to follow, but that are here for the taking.
- Mildred caring for an ill John Pruitt and something developing (maybe he's feverish and doing and saying things he wouldn't otherwise) .Or him tending to her in the same way.
- Mildred bringing food to him as apparently sometimes happens with parishioners and priests (?) and staying longer each time
- Flirting at a Crock Pot event. Maybe hers is the best slaw or something and somehow that discussion turns heated.
- I like him making the first move, and her making the first move. It's all good.
- Mildred thinks she gets a message from god that she should take care of him in every way, and though he tries to discourage it, he's helpless to fight it.
- I really like the idea of them getting together again after Sarah's born, maybe occasionally over the years.
- Him comforting her after her husband's death, and it eventually leading to more.
Bring the awkward sweetness or the heat or both, and I'm down!
Forever Knight
Nick Knight/Lucien LaCroix
Janette DuCharme/Nick Knight/Lucien LaCroix
I'll be equally happy with Nick/LaCroix or Janette/Nick/LaCroix, but I'm not looking for a focus only on a primarily het story about Nick/Janette with LaCroix sprinkled in. I want Nick/LaCroix to be a big part of either story because they're my favorite ship in the show.
Nick and Janette were a canon couple for years off and on, and though the show never confirmed a threesome, the shots of LaCroix turning him with Janette looking on are horny as hell. You can’t convince me those three weren’t sharing a single bed for a long time. If they missed out on that, it would be a travesty.
I love the early years when they were a family. But I'll like anything from lighthearted found family stuff to sex in the blood of their prey/enemies or complicated and fraught relationship dynamics set in later canon or post-canon where fewer people ended up dead.
There’s canon ring-kissing, hand-clasping, neck-clasping, standing way too close, drinking blood from each other, LaCroix slamming Nick against walls and things, LaCroix protecting both his "children" and scolding them when necessary, LaCroix telling Nick he belongs to him and will never be free of him, and LaCroix angrily wiping blood off Nick’s mouth with his fingertip and sucking it. Love it all.
If at some point LaCroix could dispense with the finger and lick blood off Nick’s and/or Janette's lips or face (and reverse that into any of them doing the licking), well yay for us all.
- After Nick is turned, how do the three of them spend that first couple of nights?
- Nick's kidnapped and dosed with vampire sex pollen by someone who wants to have sex with him and maybe become a vampire. LaCroix and Janette rescue him and kill the guy before anything happens, but Nick's in quite a desperate sex-pollened state. What to do?
- Nick, during The Fix or another time, has a temporary cure and loves going out in the sun, and his sun-warmed skin works like an aphrodisiac on LaCroix. They haven’t been together in forever, but he’s helpless against it, and Nick can’t help but be overwhelmed by LaCroix’s reaction, so, in the eloquent words of Robin the Caveman, they do it.
- LaCroix uses their telepathic bond to make Nick or Nick and Janette orgasm untouched when he's nowhere around, maybe while teaching Nick to sense him.
- The aftermath of LaCroix giving up Fleur, but this time with obvious jealousy from Nick being part of why he was so opposed.
- One watching the other two in any combo. Watching them and reflecting on feelings or watching them make love. Good with any.
- Janette comes back, a vampire again, this time sired by Nick during The Human Touch. How do they all deal with that? Can there be forgiveness and a new start? Is it a big fight or a reunion that ends up horny?
- Nick discovers that a supposed cure for vampirism is having lots of sex with the vampire who turned you, so he starts seducing LaCroix frequently. LaCroix knows it's BS (maybe he started the rumor in the hopes of this!) but pretends to be oblivious, because reasons.
- Any early family-like stuff. Nick and Janette pissing him off like disobedient children, or one of them trying some art or music discipline and being terrible at it. Maybe Janette tries to sing and is awful but they can’t bear to tell her because it makes her happy, or Nick doesn’t share her skills at painting anand everything looks like a child painted it, but they keeping framing and hanging them until he puts a stop to it because he knows.
Riptide
Cody Allen/Nick Ryder
Cody Allen/Nick Ryder & Murray Bozinsky
My favorite thing about Nick and Cody is that they are constantly in each other's personal bubble in a way that would feel awkward to most people, even the closest of friends. The whole show is like they're lovers who just haven't figured that out yet. When one sits down the other practically sits in his lap, and neither of them bat an eye. They really rub against my love of loyalty and devotion. And of course they've been there for each other through thick and thin, took care of each other in Vietnam, live together, sleep in the same room and even work together. There's only one way for them to get closer, and if you want to go there I will be on board, but it's also great if you write them getting to shippy without sex.
I included a tag with Boz just because I enjoy the character a lot and he's great when working along with Nick and Cody on cases. Often he can see clearly where they're all messed up with bias and emotions, so he's a great balancing character to their more hot-headed approach. You can include him anywhere or not, I'm fine either way.
I do like him being able to see that they love each other before the guys do and either doing nothing or nudging them ever so slightly towards each other. Them having to rescue him is always a winner to, or him teaming with one of the guys to rescue the other. But it's purely and & relationship. I don't want Boz romantically linked to either Nick or Cody, but he's free to have a love interest of any gender within the story as long as it's not one of them.
I'd really rather avoid a bunch of angst about being gay or bi in the 80s, but I do like when one is afraid to make it known because they worry about damaging the friendship, and the happiness when it's revealed that of course nothing could damage the friendship and they felt the same all along, yay!
Love first times for them, whether with revelation of feelings or all the way to sexy times, and really prefer no established 'ship stories unless they're short-ish, iike less than 2k or so. Although a 5k story where their romantic relationship is brand new at the beginning and they get separated/one gets hurt and they have to fight their way back together could be good.
- Plots like we saw on the show involving peril and concern for each other, like one getting kidnapped for some reason and the other frantic to rescue them. And if the cops think the kidnapped one is dead but the other refuses to give up and accept that, I love that kind of stuff. One rescuing the other, doesn't matter which is which, is my jam.
- Undercover as gay is a winner here. Maybe they have to pretend to be a couple for a case and it makes them realize some things. And if they're in a hotel or somewhere and, oh no, there's only one bed, all the better. Sex isn't necessary for me to enjoy the story even in a bedsharing situation, but if you want to write, I'll enjoy it!
- Being mistaken as a couple by someone on the outside, a new person they're helping with a case, and that person explaining why they thought that could be good. Someone pointing out that straight heterosexual guys don't generally sit almost in each other's laps when there are several feet of space on either side of them might make them realize some things.
- PTSD nightmares and flashbacks that have the other person comforting them, particularly with bedsharing, is great. I like one dreaming of the other dying and waking up frantic to grab ahold of him to assure himself he's okay. Lots of touching, holding, grabbing, that kind of thing. They're very handsy with each other, so more of that!
- One gets shot while they're on a case, and they can't get to help right away so the other has to take care of them until help comes.
- I like a scenario where they're both taken by the bad guys out far enough in a boat that only a really strong swimmer could make it back to sure, and threatened for some information they genuinely don't have. Maybe they're going to push Cody overboard if Nick doesn't tell them what they want, and he clearly would give up anything or anybody to prevent that but genuinely does not know the info they're after, so Cody gets tossed over, maybe knocked out first or weighted down in an effort to get Nick to talk, and Nick has to fight them off enough to jump in after him and rescue him. The near drowning causing some nightmares/flashbacks that Nick has to help him through would be a bonus.
- In any kind of danger situation, the whole "not him, take me instead" thing is fantastic both for the self-sacrifice of it but what it does to the other person. I like a lot of angst, as long as there's a happy ending.
- Also a fan of one being tortured to hurt the other in a hostage/kidnapping situation where they're trying to get information about something or just revenge, as long as the hurt one is rescued before it gets too bad. No permanent maiming or anything, just enough hurt to cause massive pain to the other party who's helpless to stop it.
- For a lighter story, maybe the guys get invited to some conference and though they have the opportunity to date a couple gorgeous women, they prefer to hang out together instead. Feel free to have Murray there, maybe he drags them to something they're not looking forward to, and end up going off alone to do the same kinds of things they'd do on the Riptide, and start to realize what that means.
- Some kind of party game they get roped into participating in, like a Newlywed Game or trivia-about-your-partner type thing, where in front of everybody they basically reveal how they have absolutely intimate knowledge of each other, maybe even with one of them joking they ought to date, could be great fun.
- One getting jealous over the other is always great, as long as it ends up resolved with them together.
Starsky & Hutch
Ken Hutchinson/David Starsky
I still love these two so much *smears hand across mouth* years later because of the friendship and love between them. They're also incredibly physically present in each other's personal bubble, so lots and lots of that will make me happy. These two were each other's beginning and end, no matter how many blondes of the week the show tried to toss in there. And it still has one of the most perfect final episodes of any TV show, for my money. I. Adore. It.
Captain Dobey and Huggy Bear are welcome to appear, but I don't expect that since they're not in the tag. Just saying, if you feel moved to toss either in, feel free! I especially love Huggy.
Casefic would be great, as would something similar to a peril-for-one episode that the show as so good at doing. Plague, Sweet Revenge, A Coffin for Starsky, etc. One hurt, the other freaking out, rescuing, comforting and caring for him, that would be fantastic. Them dealing with trauma together and working things out. Lots of touching, teasing, joking around, anything canon-typical but with the tension cranked up to make it a definite / relationship would be great. This is such a good hurt/comfort fandom, too. I mean *gestures at it*.
Post-canon, a story showing Hutch taking care of Starsky after he's discharged from the hospital and helping him recuperate, and that leading to a new relationship, would be great.
- I like the prompts I gave for Riptide for S&H too, with some modifications to fit the canon better. S&H having to go undercover would be great, and if they needed cops to play gay to get close to some kingpin or something, it'd be great if they realize feelings while pretending, but I also think it'd be great if only one goes undercover with the cop who's an expert on the person they're after, and it makes the other one jealous.
- That prompt would work without them playing gay, too. One goes undercover with a female cop, and the other is crazy jealous. If the one not part of the couple is also undercover and around to witness the couple stuff, even better.
- Any kind of expansion on what we saw on the show, like Starsky having to help Hutch through fighting his addiction after that episode is over, any kind of hurt/comfort and recuperation for either of them would be great.
- In the episode where the woman they were both hot for was going to come between them, and she basically offered not to choose and for the three of them to be together, first I loved that they turned her down and walked away with their arms around each other. Maybe that makes them realize things? Or maybe they don't turn her down and give it a try, and find that they end up neglecting her in favor of each other anyway. She could point that out, even.
- I'm a big fan of trauma causing nightmares that require help from a partner to get through, and these two have had their share of nightmare-inducing situations.
- A plague (though make it different than the current pandemic please), being poisoned, being shot, being tortured and an intended sacrifice for a CULT--write a post-ep story where the injured party has trouble sleeping, eating, or moving on and lots of comfort from the other.
- Same as the Riptide prompt: in any kind of danger situation, the whole "not him, take me instead" thing is fantastic both for the self-sacrifice of it but what it does to the other person. I like a lot of angst, as long as there's a happy ending.
- Same as the Riptide prompt: Also a fan of one being tortured to hurt the other in a hostage/kidnapping situation where they're trying to get information about something or just revenge, as long as the hurt one is rescued before it gets too bad. No permanent maiming or anything, just enough hurt to cause massive pain to the other party who's helpless to stop it.
- On the lighter side, the staff at Huggy's bar thinks they're a couple, and S&H are surprised by them, and then it starts to make sense. Or they're somewhere meeting new people and someone mildly familiar with them introduces them as a couple, and they go with it to be polite but have to figure out why people think that and what it means.
The Endless
Aaron Smith/Justin Smith
Aaron Smith/Hal/Justin Smith
I ship Aaron/Justin and Hal/Justin (and Aaron), and I love their canon relationships, too. The time loops and deaths instantly undone to do it all over again create so many possibilities, along with an entity voyeur that likes to rub that in your face with videos and photos.
I've watched this movie and Resolution enough times that you should feel free to use any characters and/or references from either that you want to. This movie (and Resolution) does so much with so little. The creepiness and mystery build with implication and lack of information rather than spelling everything out, and I love that.
This fandom is an exception to my major character death DNW as long as the character comes back. You can kill 'em and hurt 'em all you want as long as it's not permanent here.
The relationship between Justin and Aaron is fascinating and so very codependent, and any exploration of that will be a winner. Justin got him out of the cult and takes care of him, but he's got such strange ways of protecting him, like telling him that all the men in the cult are castrated and that Anna is a pedophile who paid Aaron too much attention when he was little. On the shippy side, there a lot of interesting paths to go down thanks to things like this.
Anything with the shades of the creepiness of the film with the brothers or them and Hal will be great. Feel free to include whatever canon characters you might want to.
Here are some prompts, but feel free to write something else.
- If you want to set something after the film, do Aaron and Justin wake up back in the camp one day and have to leave all over again? Do they somehow figure out they're in a time loop that may go back even as far as the car accident? Does Justin wonder if they're dead and in some time-loop purgatory and question reality altogether? Is being out of the camp the dream and his nightmare of being stuck there his reality? Does the entity send them messages beyond the video of the cult saying goodbye?
- Aaron dies in the camp and Justin has to push into the time loop premise to try to go back and save him. Or Justin dies, and the same. I know I DNW major character death, but this is an exception because we’ll assume he will not stay dead and that Justin and/or Hal (or Aaron and/or Hal) will save him and break them out.
- I like the idea of Justin and Aaron getting separated into two of the zones in the camp. They get desperate and maybe even pray to whatever force is causing it to reunite them, making promises and bargains, and maybe getting messages from the entity about what it wants them to do in exchange for being together again. It can be anything from something fairly innocent like smoking the red dope every night for a week and facing those consequences/trips, or revealing secrets to each other, to sexytimes.
- Amnesia with one of the brothers could be great, too. What if Justin's memory is taken by the entity, the red weed, the cult, Hal, whatever, and he's forgotten how much he wanted to be away from there? What does Aaron go through in not telling him, or telling him and ruining his happiness? What if Justin lost enough memories to leave without Aaron and only realize later when he's back in the real world. The horror of that and the need to get back and hopefully find him alive could be great. Same with Aaron leaving and later remembering him.
- I also really like the idea of the entity or the dope or something making Aaron and Justin forget they're brothers long enough to act on their attraction to each other without the sibling guilt, and the memory to come back after (and hopefully for them to decide hat despite the guilt, they don't want to stop their new relationship).
- What is Hal up to? Does he have an agenda beyond wanting them to stay? Is he jealous of their bond and hoping to win Aaron over? Does he have some sort of special connection with the entity nobody knows about? Both of them losing their memories while in camp and Hal managing them could be really interesting (and horror for Justin in a way, especially as he starts to remember).
- For an Aaron/Justin/Hal, maybe the brothers forget they're related but Hal joins in still remembering who they all are, but he's wanted it for so long he doesn't tell me? Or he knows that the entity has done it, and going against it would be unwise so he says nothing? Maybe he hints or makes "jokes" about it to see if he can spark a memory but ultimately goes with it?
- Any missing scene would be great, whether between the brothers or dealing with one pining for or being jealous or possessive of the other. I thought there was amazing chemistry between Justin and Hal and ship them too. Maybe when Hal takes Justin to show him the equation, Aaron gets jealous because he thinks one or both want to be with the other. I think seeing one or both of them more jealous than was shown in the film. I don’t think Justin’s jealousy was romantic or sexual in the film, but he clearly wants to be the focus of Aaron’s attention, so leaning hard into that and taking it further into romantic or sexual desire would be great.
- Maybe Aaron knows Justin is in love with him/wants him and even though they're both conflicted, he likes it and flirts extra hard with Hal to try to push Justin to admit it or show it more openly. Or Justin does the flirting in the hopes of getting a reaction from Aaron, and either it works as hoped or it ends up drawing Hal in with them, too.
- The entity likes to send them things. What if it sent Justin photos or video of Aaron having sex with someone else? Hal, or Anna, or a total stranger? Justin hides that he knows but seethes with jealousy and hurt (and guilt for wanting his brother), and when they have a confrontation about it, it turns out that the images are the fantasies Aaron has about Justin with other people plugged in, or something like that.
- Maybe pre- or post-film the entity sends Justin video where Aaron is talking to him through it and confessing that he wants him, maybe while touching himself or something. Does Justin believe it’s real or doubt it? What happens? There are so many possibilities in this weird universe.
The Trollenberg Terror
Alan Brooks/Philip Truscott
I doubt the writer or filmmaker intended Philip to look like he was flirting his ass off from the moment he met Alan or appear so drawn to him, but that's how it turned out anyway, and I am there for it. I don't mind any other characters showing up, and if you write them in a situation where they could save Dewhurst or Klein, that's certainly welcome. I really love Professor Crevett. I like the Pilgrim sisters too, so they're welcome to appear. Really, do whatever you want as long as Alan/Philip is the focus.
Any missing scene with Philip and Alan would great, or canon divergences that put them alone, either before, during or after the aliens attacked in the end of the film. Flirting, banter and conversation, and UST (and maybe at least a first kiss or some other outward display of affection) would be great.
I just really like the way they're always next to each other, solving mysteries and being competent and proactive when the shit hits the fan. I like them dealing with the mystery, figuring it out, saving people, saving each other, and dealing with the trauma of it all afterward.
Prompts and ideas:
- Philip and Alan get trapped alone, either in Hotel Europa or on the mountain somewhere. What happens is up to you, but if they're in peril while they're trapped, that'd be worth a bonus point.
- Too many celebratory scotches lead them to fall asleep (innocently) in the same room, even the same bed. One (or both) is worried he made the pass he's been wanting to make at the other while drunk and doesn't remember how the other might have reacted so they basically flee to shower and change. I'd love to see them navigate this awkwardness until the truth comes out, and they can be relieved and happy.
- They embrace after the fire-bombing raid, overjoyed that it's over and they're still alive, and have feelings, and then remember they're in a room full of people.
- They're finally alone after the fire-bombing raid, relieved and flirting again, and Alan (or Philip) can't wait another second to kiss the other.
- Philip has a nightmare about being choked to death like he almost was and wakes up screaming. Alan runs from his room to see what's going on and insists on staying with him. Or Alan can wake screaming from a nightmare of not being able to get Philip away from the alien that had him (or his brush with one), and Philip rushes into his room to see what's the matter. Lovely h/c scenario, imo! I will never tired of this kind of thing.
- I like a scenario where they get closer after the film while they're still there and meet up shortly after to deal with another anomaly. Maybe one of them calls the other right away about a situation similar to what happened on the Trollenberg, or something equally screwed up, and getting back together makes them overcome their hesitancy.
- One of them has lingering injuries from the ordeal. I mean, Philip got hanged by the thing, and Alan got a bit mauled. Maybe adrenalin kept them going but once the threat is over, one of them needs further medical care and the other refuses to leave his side.
- Together somewhere, maybe a planned meeting after Trollenberg because they both hesitate to let the other out of his life, a real-life danger crops up. Maybe an armed robbery, or an explosion or something relatively banal compared to tentacled giant-eye aliens with mind-control powers, and they handle it together, and flirty and/or sexy things ensue.
- Maybe government agencies swoop in to interrogate and test everyone involved and they turn out to be agencies Alan can't navigate. He and Philip are separate for at least a few days, and their concern for each other boils over when they're finally allowed to see each other again.
- The thing that grabbed Philip drags him away instead of holding him there and Alan only gets a glimpse of it retreating when he rushes outside. He has to go after it to save Philip, who could reasonably be unconscious by the time it's over and Alan has to carry him back to the observatory where he and Professor Crevett try to help him wake.
- Or Philip fights his way free of it while no one's watching the screen, Alan can't find him and assumes the worst and thinks he's dead after the firebombing raid but either can't give in and goes to look one more time, or Philip stumbles out as people are leaving the observatory, worse for wear and needing some serious help.
Things I Like
- Friendship, found families, loyalty, love, deep emotional connections, devotion, displays of affection and respect
- Third person POV
- Missing scenes and fix-its, as well as case-fic and plotty stories
- Protectiveness and characters sacrificing their own comforts to help others
- Mutual pining with a happy ending, unrequited love finally realized
- Hurt/comfort, especially things like one comforting another after a nightmare, tending wounds, caring for them when they're ill or injured, hovering after something traumatic and trying to take their mind off things
- Tropes like oh my god there's only one bed and every other possible bedsharing scenario, fake couple/marriage for whatever reasons to real romance, forced proximity and bonus if there’s peril
- First kiss, first realization of feelings
- Humor, snark and banter, laughing and joking with each other
- Flirting/pining/UST, and getting together fic (I do like established relationship in shorter <500 or even <1000 word stories or any length when the couple is canon)
- Happy or at least hopeful endings
- Porn with feelings and emotional or romantic sex
- Possessiveness and a little jealousy
- First times
- Dubcon in some fandoms/pairings (I'll mention it)
- Desperate kisses and one or both partners overwhelmed with passion and feelings
- Manhandling and displays of strength, up against the wall sex
- Kneeling (any reason but especially for oral sex or to kiss knees or thighs or anything like that, grand)
- Penetrative sex, oral sex, fingers, frottage, mutual masturbation or one watching the other
- Naked and half-naked or one clothed and the other naked, basically any combo of clothed/not clothed
- Necking, petting, face and neck and body stroking, kissing and/or sucking or licking pretty much anywhere
- I really like up against the wall, taken from behind, and one riding the other, but any positions are fine
- Thank god you're/we're alive sex
- One character being suddenly so overcome with feeling and desire for the other they kiss them and initiate things out of the blue, like they can't wait another second--love those big music swell moments
- Light hair-pulling or ass-slapping when appropriate in the heat of the moment
- With appropriate pairings, like vampires, blood drinking and/or licking blood off the other’s mouth, face, neck, etc. can’t go wrong
- I like stories with no sex, fade-to-black, or full-on smut, so write whatever level you prefer. You can also split the difference and focus more on the emotions than a blow-by-blow what's going where sort of story if you want.
DNWs:
- Anything pandemic-related including references to it, anything political including references and people's names (unless in a historic context, like George Washington)
- A/B/O, genderswapping
- Mundane and different setting AU (college, coffee shop, different time period, in space, etc), but canon settings with a key difference like vampires or psychics exist and people know, zombies have come, things like those are fine within the canon setting. And minor canon divergence to get non-canon couples together or see what happens if they go left instead of right are fine.
- Script format with only each speaker's name and dialogue, lapslock, unconventional capitalization and punctuation unless for canon/plot reasons
- Unhappy and otherwise bleak endings
- First and second person POV except in epistolary/journal format, original or unrequested character's outsider POV
- Kidfic and pregnancy-related fic, including mpreg
- Unrequested gender identity or sexuality headcanons, a focus on gender identity or sexuality, teach-me-a-lesson fic
- Surprise serious illness, character death, as well as cruelty to animals/animal death, infidelity, partner betrayal
- Holiday stories, unrequested crack/parodies, unrequested crossovers
- Non-con, underage
- Oviposition, eggs, sex to cause pregnancy or mpreg, feeding to cause weight gain, inflations, dehumanization and extreme objectification, body horror-related sex
- Sex toys, BDSM, fisting, insertions and things like pain, torture, spitting, choking and hitting (more than a playful slap on the ass)
- Elimination-related kinks (enemas, urine, etc.)
- Characters calling each other daddy, baby boy/girl, slut, bitch, whore mommy or similar during sex, unless it's a canon pet name. Generic dirty talk, daddy and mommy kinks in general
- A focus on bodily fluids or excretions except sweat, tears and where mentioned, blood; come play or eating (swallowing after oral sex is fine)
To clarify on the surprise serious illness, things like referencing canon trauma is fine but someone having a stroke or a life-threatening non-canon disease is a big no. Injuries are different. A character could get shot in something like a hurt/comfort or casefic scenario, things like broken bones, wounds (physical and mental) and even more minor injuries are fine as long as they'll heal.
