Exchange stuff
Writing fanfic is my hobby! Hobbies are fun and relaxing!

Who knew that between Friday night and Saturday morning the story for FFFX I'd been struggling with wouldn't magically transform from something that wasn't coming together into a heartbreaking work of staggering genius just because the deadline was 15 hours away?
And why am I always surprised by this?
It all worked out, and I'm really happy with the finished product (except the typos and sloppy bits I need to clean up between now and reveals, of course) but Saturday was rough for a while when I thought it wouldn't happen.
This might seem weird, but I was really glad my author also got an extension and was hoping they wouldn't post it until the last day to keep that feeling of camaraderie going. I felt like we were in this together and enjoyed that feeling. We posted within minutes of each other, so it felt very Yes, we did it, Mystery Person! Go us!
I've written the fandom before a few times, but not the pairing, and I loved writing it. I want to write it more! I might add a few more scenes to this story or maybe give them a treat that gets them together in a different way. We'll see. If I do neither, the story's complete and, I think, pretty fun as-is.
My Candy Hearts assignment only needs a final scene that it's been waiting on for a while, and I have a few solid ideas to choose from for the pinch hit I picked up. I already know what I'll write for my IPQ assignment too, and plan to start on that as soon as my CH assignment is posted and I have at least a rough draft for the pinch hit. Then I think I'll probably take an exchange hiatus.
Of course, saying I'm going to do that and not doing it is apparently also my hobby.

You've done very well. Go you! Deadlines are a blessings and a curse. I'm glad the only one I'll have upcoming is for Seasons of Drabbles.
