In your own space, Scream Into the Void. Get it all out.

Oh, if I really got it all out, I would probably feel like I needed to slink away and hide in a sewer drain for a while or something. But I will mini-rant that fandom is supposed to be fun. It's supposed to be an enjoyable experience, no matter how one chooses to engage with it.

I take it pretty seriously. I write a lot of fanfic, and have been in online fandom in some form since about 1998. Before that, I had mail-order Star trek and Starsky & Hutch zines. Fandom has saved me a couple of times, in particular after my mother's death almost 20 years ago. It's really important to me.

But I look around damn near every day and think lighten the hell up already

Between antis and people who act like an atrocity against mankind has been committed because someone didn't tag for nose-blowing or a specific character being the bottom in a relationship, you'd think world peace hinged on these things. Take a deep breath. It's a hobby. It's supposed to be fun.

Also, my backspace key (and a few others) has died in the middle of a two-day writing session needed to hit a work deadline and I cut my finger while trying to clean and replace it, so now I'm typing with a bandage on the tip of my index finger. I never needed a backspace key more because my backspace key died. And I suddenly can't find my Bluetooth keyboard. *banshee wail*

Ow on the broken key and the cut finger trying to fix it. And hear hear to the idea of fandom being fun, instead of a vehicle to display your belief in your own moral superiority. (Extra funny when many of the people on the transformative side are interested in what would be called acts of Niall depravity.)
