Private, I promised not to do this to myself again. I am lying liar who lies.
Procrastinating things so far this year has made me super productive! Just not on the things I really should be doing.
I've been putting off this work since the 1st, so in that time I've finished and/or written three gift stories and three-quarters of another, with several ideas written down for more. I'll write fanfic any old time, but if I want to stoke the fire for it under my butt, I apparently only have to have a lot of stress and several pressing things to do.
I did spend three hours and a quarter yesterday on one aspect of the project, but I can't put off the rest any longer. I've got to knuckle down right now, because it's going to take a solid 5-6 hours of keyboard time, probably spread over 8-9 hours to account for breaks. Unfortunately, I've done it before, so I know I'll get it done, but it won't be that pleasant after about 2 am when I'm super tired and still have at least a couple hours to go.
I think I'll use a Candy Hearts letter/sign-up and IPQ nominations as little carrots when I take breaks, as long as I've hit the right milestone in the previous hour.
ETA: Halfway done in about 4.5 clock hours and speeding up as I go. I'd actually be much further in, but my backspace key has decided to work about half the time, which has slowed me down. I need to dig out my old NEO and some fresh batteries to use as the keyboard going forward, but I don't have time tonight.
Done now at 9am with about 1.5 hours of editing at the end. I didn't take many breaks and didn't look at the exchanges at all. Maybe tonight.
