Fandom 5K Letter
General likes:
- friendship, found families, loyalty and love whether it's sexual or not
- deep emotional connections and devotion
- third person POV
- people figuring things out together
- gray areas and difficult choices
- missing scenes and fix-its, as well as case-fic and plotty stories
- displays of affection and respect
- protectiveness and characters sacrificing their own comforts to help others
- dub-con in certain fandoms/pairings
- mutual pining with a happy ending, unrequited love finally realized
- hurt/comfort, especially things like one comforting another after a nightmare, tending wounds, caring for them when they're ill or injured, hovering after something traumatic and trying to take their mind off things
- oh my god there's only one bed and every other possible bedsharing scenario
- fake couple/marriage for whatever reasons to real romance
- forced proximity
- first kiss, first realization of feelings, first times
- humor, snark and banter, laughing and joking with each other
- I greatly prefer flirting/pining/UST, getting there or first times rather than established relationship stories unless the characters are a couple in canon. (For an exchange like Chocolate Box or a flash where a story can be just a short snapshot or a single moment or two, I'm fine with established relationship fic, though.)
- happy endings
Smut Likes! I like sexytimes. I'm also perfectly happy to get a story that contains no sex at all or fade-to-black scenes. . I'm totally okay with any sex scenes you want to write being written with more generalities and less blow-by-blow anatomical detail. You can focus on the emotions more than the acts or body parts, and I will love it! Here's some relevant info if you'd like to write something explicit:
- I really prefer porn with feelings and emotional sex
- possessiveness and a little jealousy
- first times
- dubcon in some fandoms/pairings
- desperate, hungry kissing
- one or both partners overwhelmed with passion and feelings
- manhandling and displays of strength
- looking into each other's eyes while having sex and it almost being too much for one/both of them
- fake dating/marriage leading to sex as the characters realize their feelings
- up against the wall sex
- kneeling (especially for oral sex, but to kiss knees or thighs or anything like that, grand)
- penetrative sex, oral sex, fingers, frottage, rimming, mutual masturbation or one watching the other
- naked and half-naked or one clothed and the other naked, basically any combo of clothed/not clothed
- necking, petting, face and neck and body stroking, kissing and/or licking pretty much anywhere
- I really like up against the wall and one riding the other, especially if near the end the one on the bottom sits up and bounces the rider a lot more as things get intense, but any positions are fine
- thank god you're/we're alive sex
- bed-sharing or forced proximity that leads to romantic moments and/or sex
- one character being suddenly so overcome with feeling and desire for the other they kiss them and initiate things out of the blue, like they can't wait another second--love those big music swell moments
- bent over and fucked from behind
- hurt/comfort that leads to romantic things and/or sex
- light hair-pulling in the heat of the moment
- either partner sucking the other's finger
- one or both saying they need the other
- anything pandemic-related (let's have it not exist please, no mentions, no masks, no distancing, no deaths).
- anything political or related to social justice or current events, including names of any RL people or public figures.
- AU (setting, A/B/O, genderswapping, etc.) but minor canon divergence to get non-canon couples together or see what happens if they go left instead of right are fine
- unhappy and otherwise bleak endings
- first and second person POV. I cannot get into it unless the canon is in first person or it's a fandom where journal entries and epistolary stories makes sense. I like those, so I'll point them out. Otherwise, I don't read them.
- unrequested ships and original major characters
- kidfic and pregnancy including mpreg
- unrequested gender identity or sexuality headcanons, a focus on gender identity or sexuality, teach-me-a-lesson fic
- surprise serious illness, character death, as well as cruelty to animals/animal death, infidelity, partner betrayal
- death of a requested character
- original character's outsider POV
- holiday stories, unrequested crack/parodies, unrequested crossovers
- non-traditional capitalization and punctuation, please use capital letters where appropriate and use quotation marks for speech. I have poor eyesight and reading something in all lower caps or with dashes for speech or something unusual is a lot harder than people with good vision might imagine
To clarify on the surprise serious illness, things like referencing canon trauma is fine but someone having a stroke or a life-threatening non-canon disease is a big no. Injuries are different. A character could get shot in something like a hurt/comfort or casefic scenario, things like broken bones, wounds (physical and mental) and even more minor injuries are fine as long as they'll heal.
Sex DNWs/Dislikes:
- non-con (though I often like the dubbiest of dubcon, depending on the fandom)
- underage
- characters calling each other daddy, baby boy/girl, slut, bitch, mommy or most pet names
- lots of conversation during sex, though a little bit is fine, and "dirty" talk that's supposed to be serious (a little in a joking way is okay). A well-placed "fuck me" is also great, (or fuck him/her in a participant voyeur situation!) but ongoing dirty talk doesn't do it for me.
- constant "I love you"s and lots of baby and honey and stuff. I'd rather have subtlety than outright declarations about everything.
- sex toys, BDSM, fisting, insertions and things like edging, pain, torture, spitting, choking and hitting (unless it's a playful slap on the ass when they're really having fun or something)
- focus on bodily fluids or excretions, except sweat and tears (and blood where I mention it), come play or eating (in oral sex, swallowing is fine and I prefer that to the alternatives, but don't focus on the taste/texture, etc.)
JUMP TO:
The Magnus ArchivesMartin Blackwood/Jonathan Sims
(Because the series just ended and I'm currently rolling hard in my love of it, this section may be more massive than normal, sorry, That doesn't mean I want this fandom more than the others I've requested, but I love it so much and feel the need to gush with no one to gush to. Nobody I know IRL will listen to it to indulge me, the rotten bastards. If you matched me on a different fandom, I love that one too, I promise you)
If you haven't listened through the end of The Magnus Archives and don't want to be spoiled on the finale, you should skip the TMA portion of my letter because at least one prompt is set during the last episode and others might reference something from it.
First I'll get this out of the way: I'm pleased by the end of TMA and rank it as one of my favorite horror series and one of my favorite romances. I didn't expect to get an OTP out of it when I started, but Jonmartin got me (I still like other pairings too, even ones where they're with others, but they're my fave). I love so much that their last words were I love you and their last moment (before stabbing) a quick kiss. I'm relieved that the ending is ambiguous and not a definite <i>yep they's dead</i> moment. I wish their last moments had gone on longer for various reasons, but I'm still really happy with it. And I'm over the moon that Basira made it to the end with Georgie and Melanie and got the last, great, words of the whole thing.
TMA specific DNWs: eye-gouging, sex-repulsed Jon (I think he's canonically disinterested in sex but I want him to enjoy sex with Martin even if otherwise he has no desire for it)
Don't feel constrained by my prompts if you have a different idea you think I'll like!
- Jon's voice in that finale? Telling Martin to go, all eldritch and deep and distorted? I could totally go for a lot more time before the tower starts to crumble, long enough for Jon and Martin to spend some quality last-moments kinda time together. Maybe Martin doesn't think they'll be able to carry out the plan nearly as fast, maybe they agreed upon a time to give him a big window or something, I don't know, so he has a lot more time to get Jon out or figure out some other way. I'm not too proud to admit finale Jon did things to me. So some spontaneous sexytimes would be awesome. I mean, Jon thinks he's going to hasten the end, but it's not going to be instant, and he did say he wanted Martin to stay there with him so they could have whatever time is left together. If Martin thinks he has a lot of time to try to fix things when he goes . . . basically I keep thinking about how upset Martin was and new-Pupil monster-voiced Dark Fuck Jon, and angry (at least on Martin's end) desperate, spontaneous sex they each think might be their last. I'm also taken with the idea that maybe Martin has time to only slightly reluctantly become undone by that voice, too. Maybe it awakens a desire in him that he could fight if he wanted to exhaust himself doing it, but doesn't want to in that moment.
- I would be just as happy with no sex at all in a drawn-out scene in the tower of Martin expressing himself (the voice acting in this last ep, oh my gosh, got to me) and Jon trying to make him understand. As long as it's obvious they love each other so much, more than anything else in the world (and I think that was born out by the canon end), I will love it. I realize that one scene in the finale might be hard to stretch to 5K, so the story can contain scenes elsewhere too, or a different scenario in the tower altogether. Really, any scenes where they're fighting, making up, joking, snarking back and forth, figuring things out or, yes, having sex. I just love them, so it's hard to go wrong.
- I particularly loved their brief respite with Melanie and Georgie's cult, so anything slower-paced and relationship-focused during that period would be great, too. A long scene of them talking or fighting in bed (without sex or with, I'm easy) would be great. (And anything including Melanie, Georgie or Basira is also more than welcome, if you want to write them into it.)
- I can't imagine ever getting tired of Scottish cabin fics, before or after the apocalypse. Just saying.
- I'm a sucker for hurt/comfort so anything that expands on one of those moments where either was hurt would be great. I wished for a little more comfort after Annabelle's abduction of Martin, for instance, or the many times Jon's been hurt. Lingering on the aftermath of any of those would make me happy. Or create a new situation where one is hurt and the other takes care of him. Even something like how Jon reacted after finding Martin in the Lonely, how it might have change things for a bit, or a situation where Martin didn't know him right away and Jon had to deal with that, would be great. One thinking or knowing that something or someone else is hurting the other and them trying to reach them and stop it, and managing it with lots of comfort and angst. Yay.
- I also like the idea that the Lonely or something else manages to convince Martin that he knows Jon doesn't really love him, that him thinking Martin is useless wasn't just S1 grumblings but how it is "now" and that he's only holding Jon back from saving the world and making life far more difficult for him. Because he loves Jon so much, he leaves and tries to do the "right thing" by staying away from him, and Jon, terrified of losing him, desperately chases after him to bring him back to reality. And of course he can clearly see Martin's pain all the time before he catches him and has to make him remember that Jon does love him.
- And in not-finale-related ideas, a Leitner Made Them Do It is a long-standing favorite of mine, so any scenario where one or both is sex-pollened by a book is fine with me. Dubcon in that situation is also fine as long as it's a sort of no-no-yes dubcon. No non-con please. And by dub-con I mean one or both being reluctant more because they think it's a burden for the other who couldn't want them, not them not wanting the other person. And of course by the end they realize the other wanted them too.
- I also really like the idea of not just immediate sexual desire prompted by a Leitner, but the revelation of feelings being hastened by it, too. That and other truth-serumy stuff. With sex or not. I'm also okay if any of the truth to come out is dark in nature and/or about past serious dubcon situations, for instance Martin admitting that Peter Lukas did more than talk to him, though he felt manipulated into it (and Jon can be appalled and hurt on his behalf, of course) or Jon reluctantly admitting a similar thing with Elias. Painful childhood (or adult) moments, or Martin confessing moments that make it clear to Jon how truly abusive his mother was. (If there are truth confessions about bad things that have happened to them, whatever they are, those can have more of a non-con flair, like the painful truths being ripped out against their will, but I'd rather any sex be dub-con-to-consensual at worst.)
- I love when they're jealous, too, so anything that expands on those moments would be great. I'd love to see Jon seething about how close he thinks Martin and Peter Lukas are in season 4 and working to win Martin over. Martin's jealousy over Oliver being the one to wake Jon is delicious. Martin a little jealous over Georgie. Jon disliking how often Elias calls Martin into his office or something. Any story set at any time. Pining. All the (eventually requited) pining.
- Want to write a tooth-rotting sweet and fluffy scenario with these two? Go for it. As much of angst hound as I seem to be, I like the soft and sweet moments, too. Tea-related banter. Cooking. Maybe Martin takes up the hobby of life sketching and his cache of drawings of Jon in every mundane office scenario is discovered and Jon is moved an embarrassed but can't stop trying to pose himself (while not looking like he's posing) when he thinks Martin's looking.
- And this is a little idea that has never quite let me go, if you're looking to write something more lighthearted: Martin and Jon in an escape room. Maybe the rest of the Archive gang were supposed to go but miscommunication meant only Jon and Martin showed up (and maybe only because Martin finally talked him into it as a team-building exercise or something). I'd love to see them working through the clues, getting frustrated, finally laughing a lot and completely failing to get out in time because when the time is up they're too busy kissing.
Basically, I like the quiet moments between them. I like smut. I like horror. I like it when they're pissy with each other and when they're sweet. I like that they're flawed and exhausted and smart and willing to put each other above everything else, and that they know each other so very well. So feel free to hurt them all you want (or not, because I like the quiet and sweet moments as much), but give them more than enough comfort to make up for it and a happy-for-now ending.
Evil
Ben Shakir & Karima Shakir
David Acosta & Kristen Bouchard & Ben Shakir
David Acosta & Kristen Bouchard & Ben Shakir & Karima Shakir
David Acosta/Kristen Bouchard/Andy Bouchard
I fell hard for this show. It has some genuinely creepy moments and themes, and characters that mesh so well together. I'm up for almost anything with these characters except a bleak ending with no hope. The story can be super dark, but I'd prefer it not end up dark or bleak, which is why I didn't choose Darkfic as a tag.
- Even if I hadn't loved this show as much as I did, it would have been worth watching to discover Ben Shakir. I typically don't want kidfic, but if you're moved to write Ben with Kristen's kids around or in the background or even as key characters (though they're not nommed), I'm game. Ben the Magnificent and how much those kids loved him and he loved and tried to protect them in return was an unexpected joy for me, so indulge yourself if you want to write a story like that.
- I love the relationship with Ben and his sister Karima, and would eat up backstory with them and a lot more history between them (and their family in general, if you want). Brother and sister banter when they're both so damn smart is a delight. I wish there'd been a lot more Karima in the show.
- I really loved when Karima helped them out and became briefly a part of the gang, so a story where David, Kristen, Ben and Karima are working together in a show-style plot would be great. Or after Karima is so horrified and wants nothing more to do with it, Ben or Ben and the others find out what she's thinking and feeling and help her out.
- Canon-typical shenanigans with David, Kristen and Ben would also be great, whether missing scenes from the show or something new.
- This show is ripe with possibilities for the-devil-made-them-do-it scenarios. Kristen's (spoilers) seemingly likely murder of Orson in the end as an example. What do Ben, David or Kristen do that they were manipulated into doing or possessed into doing that the others find out and have to fix, undo or protect that person from.
- I'd like a post-canon story too. What will David and Ben do now? How will Kristen hide what's happening to her, and how long does it work before they find out? Do they have to exorcise her? (An exorcism and them covering up the murder would actually be awesome).
- I'd actually really like Karima possessed or otherwise harassed by a specific evil and have to be saved by the gang, mostly, I think, because I want to see Ben worried over her and upset. Alternately, she has to use her tech skills to help cover up something someone else did, maybe even Ben, because that sibling caring and worry for each other does it for me.
- I favor David/Kristen/Andy is because I really liked David/Kristen for so many reasons, but I love Andy and don't want to see him hurt, either. And they'd make a hot threesome in a dubconny situation where, yes, the devil made them do it. Things can happen between them in a way that they think it's their idea but they're under some thrall like when they were drugged out at the cult gathering, or it can be a sober sort of thing that spontaneously happens with the three of them with no regrets (except maybe for David who is trying to stay celibate, of course). But it can be consensual or under-the-influence of something and I'll enjoy it either way. Just please make it natural and spontaneous with maybe a couple of questions at most about whether they want to do this or not or something, but no negotiations or rules.
- Maybe David and Kristen could be in another scenario like the farm and Andy shows up, and that's how it happens. Maybe he got a babysitter and showed up at the one the night David and Kristen first kissed, and the three of them get loose and sexy with each other and welcome him back from mountainclimbing. Any situation like that's going to be good.
- The three of them can also be together without any sex as long as there's some serious flirting going on and maybe the implication that things are going to happen between them eventually, whether they're influenced by something or not. I like Kristen with both and David/Andy too, by the way. Pig pile them any which way.
- It's not nommed, but I'm all for Ben/David/Kristen or Ben/Karima/David Kristen/Karima in a situation like that, too. If you wanted to write other characters, I'm fine with the kids as stated earlier, Leland Townsend or George appearing briefly and being menacing dicks, or Kristen's mom appearing briefly. In a story about Ben and Karima, any amount of their parents or any others you want in their backstories or current events are fine.
I'm currently rewatching the show and may get more or better ideas, so I might add or change prompts until sign-ups close.
Prodigal Son
Gil Arroyo/Jessica Whitly
Gil Arroyo & Malcolm Bright & Ainsley Whitley
Malcolm Bright/Edrisa Tanaka
Malcolm Bright/Vijay Chandasara
Malcolm Bright/Dani Powell
I was rooting for Gil/Jessica early on when I thought they were showing signs that either something had happened or that something was going to. I love being right! And I love that Gil isn't just in love with Jessica but was such a father figure for Malcolm and Ainsley (though seemingly to a lesser degree). I just love Gil in general.
Malcolm's relationships with the people he knows and cares about are so different that it's hard to ship just one! I adore Edrisa and really favor them together, and I think they'd make a really good match if the show would lay off keeping her as a sort of comic relief. Her loyalty to Malcolm made me so happy at the end of S1. I want them to bond over dead bodies and weapons and nerd out together. There will never be enough Malcolm/Edrisa fanfic!
With Dani he's been so vulnerable in a different way, since she's seen him shaken by a nightmare and out of his head on drugs. There's obviously a spark between them I'd like to see explored faster than the show's going to give us anything (aside from his hit-on-the-head scenario, which, my heart). And Vijay's appearance was so much fun by the end, with Vijay understanding Malcolm's covert instructions and the way they played off each other. I like to think their closeness could lead to more. Prodigal Son-specific DNWs: Referencing Malcolm's canonical trauma is perfectly fine, encouraged even because hurt/comfort is my jam, but please no references to fanon possible sexual abuse such as Malcolm/Martin or Malcolm/Paul Lazar. If you set the story near the end of season one, you can pretend Eve was never a thing or reference their relationship as you please. I don't care either way, but please don't make it a focal point.
Malcolm/Edrisa
- For Edrisa, she and Malcolm bond over a crime scene or autopsy and maybe with their heads together peering at a wound or a photo or something, Malcolm turns his face and realizes how easy it would be to kiss her at that moment, and things (whether a romantic bonding moment or more) ensue (in the office, not next to the dead body, because Edrisa has yoo much respect for the dead, I think).
- He invites her over to look at his weapons (or she invites him to look at some medical stuff she's collected or something) and at some point can't believe he's been only looking at her as a colleague all this time.
- Edrisa is taken hostage by someone, maybe from a case they're working on, and Malcolm talks him down to save her. Maybe Malcolm's the one who recognizes how shaken she is and invites her home where comforting, comfort sex or thank god youre alive sex can happen (after appropriate non-sexual caring gestures, of course). Maybe she doesn't want to be alone and he doesn't think she should be alone, so he lets her sleep in his bed while he watches over her, and she's restless or having a nightmare so he gets into the bed to hold her. Sex or not, your choice. Let me double stress that I will be just happy with non-sexual romantic and/or shippy things for all of my prompts/fandoms.
- Malcolm and Edrisa get trapped together in a relatively small space, maybe she needs some comfort so he holds her and they get closer.
- For this and any other Malcolm pairing, discussion about his father or his childhood, or anything involving his past, leads his hand to shake and him to obviously be disturbed. The one he's with can take his hand to stop his shaking, and things move on from there (or that can be the pinnacle romantic moment, of course!).
Malcolm/Dani
- I'd love any scenario where Dani has to comfort him, whether she goes to his loft for some reason and catches him in a nightmare, or she rescues him from some situation like when he was kidnapped.
- Dani comforting him at any point would be great, or he can comfort Dani. She hasn't exactly had a charmed life. Maybe one of their face-full of drugs scenarios makes her crave a high again and Malcolm stays with her until she's out of the woods again and over the craving hump.
- They can be trapped together, either by a bad guy or circumstance, and have nothing to do but wait to be rescued. Flirting, confessions, character-building conversations on up to sexytimes, and I'm fine with it.
- Malcolm and Dani have to go undercover as a couple and this leads to revelation of feelings. Bedsharing can be part of it and lead to sexy things. I'm always down for oh no there's only bed whatever shall we do? scenarios (as well as Dani getting into the bed with him to calm him down after a nightmare).
- Malcolm slips up and references something that happened between them in his hallucinated happy place with her and Dani won't let him go until he admits what happened while he was knocked out, and things move on from there. Maybe he's under the influence of something (which seems to happen a lot, poor guy) and talks to her about it, telling her everything, forgetting it was his secret.
Malcolm/Vijay
- After Vijay drives the car back into the warehouse and helps save the day, what happens? He and Malcolm are both hopped up on adrenalin, maybe they go back to Malcolm's loft to reconnect and talk old times and this leads to shippy and/or sexy things.
- They reconnect at any point during or after the episode and talk about darker things, why they drifted apart, how hurt Vijay was at Malcolm's withdrawal. Comfort in the form of hugging, or kissing and hugging, or more is all perfectly fine with me!
- Maybe Malcolm reveals his crush and how he wasn't sure Vijay returned it at the time, and hey, turns out he felt the same.
- Hints that one or both (preferably both) have been pining all this time would be most welcomed!
- Malcolm/Vijay is sort of an exception to my DNW of pet names. He does call Malcolm "baby boy" in the show, so him calling Malcolm that is a-ok with me, but please not in the middle of sex. Leading up to it, though, particularly during some flirting beforehand or just flirting in general, it'd be totally fine. And of course it's fine in general conversation the way it was done on the show.
- Feel free to throw them into another case-related scenario after the episode that brings them closer together. Does Malcolm end up taking Vijay to see his Martin for some reason? That could be super interesting. Would Martin assume they're dating and say things like that, would he be jealous and show it so that Vijay might have to assert himself where Malcolm's concerned? Lots of possibilities.
Gil/Jessica
- I would love to see how this started, how he kept checking on them after Martin's arrest and something grew between them. I presume it happened slowly, but maybe it started as a moment of comfort or sheer indulgence and real feelings grew from there. I'm happy either way.
- Their relationship blooming while he's taking Malcolm under his wing and becoming a trusted adult for Ainsley would be great to read. I can totally see that as part of what made her fall for him, and her concern for her kids what drew Gil to see her as more than someone whose husband got sent up.
- Ainsley was so small when Martin was arrested and never taken to see him. Maybe she started to call Gil Dada at some point making a sweet, sad and awkward moment for them that helped them get closer?
- Post S1 stuff would be great, too. I wish Jessica had gone into his room after overhearing him and given him what for so that could have been hashed out then and there, so a little change there would be nice. As would Gil not letting her pull away as much after he's out of the hospital. Getting them together in about any scenario would be great.
- Jessica's rescue of Gil was an awesome surprise. Let her be badass some more and/or let Gil really show her how appreciative he is that she's as tough as she seems.
Gil & Malcolm & Ainsley, Gil & Malcolm, Malcolm & Ainsley
- Any scenes from when they were kids and Gil obviously started coming around a lot would be great.
- Malcolm canonically didn't speak for a long time after Martin was arrested, and was obviously suffering a lot. I like the idea that maybe Gil was the reason he started speaking again, or a combination of Gil and Ainsley. I'd love to see Gil helping through the trauma with Ainsley right there too, of course, not understanding a lot of what's being said.
- Maybe Ainsley did something that might hurt her like go to play with a candle or dash into the street and Malcolm had to shout to save her, and Gil was there to pick up the pieces after that breakthrough.
- I'd like to see Gil interacting with them when they're teenagers or young adults, too. Birthday parties or catching them in the park when he's on his beat and talking to them. Anything really, from something dangerous or angsty to lighthearted stuff.
- Malcolm and Ainsley's relationship either when they were growing up or in present day. Malcolm has been portrayed as a protective older brother, always telling her things would be okay, so him being protective of her as they grew up is a favorite thing of mine. But I like their adult relationship a lot, too. How did they keep in touch while he worked for the FBI? What things did she tell him about her life and relationships that she never told her mother?
- Now that Ainsley has killed to protect her family, and then some, how is Malcolm reframing a lot of things his sister said and did over the years? I'd love to read about him reexamining everything and trying to figure out when things changed, or he and Gil doing this together. I can see him wondering if his obsession with murder caused it, or if they truly can't escape their legacy, or if something else might have happened to her he doesn't know about to cause it.
- I'd love to see a scenario in S2 where Gil somehow finds out what Ainsley did and confronts Malcolm or both of them about it. I want him willing to keep quiet and protect them if needed, because Gil would. I like the idea of Gil helping keep Malcolm together since Ainsley doesn't seem currently worried about him.
I love all the characters in Prodigal Son so much, so mix 'n match all you like.
The Exorcist
Tomas Ortega/Marcus Keane
Tomas Ortega & Marcus Keane & Devon Bennett
Ben Daniels made Marcus Keane one of my favorite fictional characters anywhere. I love he and Tomas are both flawed but strong and fit so well together, as friends and brothers in arms, and in my view the UST screams out of the TV with these two. What I'd like most is to maintain that kind of thing that shows their friendship and devotion, and the more hand-clasping and nape-touching you can get in there, the better. And if you want to get them to sex, by all means, but I think there'd be a desperation and spontaneity to it rather than some planned or negotiated thing.
Fandom-specific DNW: Don't make god a hero in the story. No divine intervention that saves the day, please.
Prompts, but feel free to write something else that appeals to you:
- Marcus doesn't leave Tomas at the end but stays to help him through what will surely be some post-demon PTSD. Okay, I want there to be post-demon PTSD, not sorry. The hurt/comfort is strong with these two.
- I love nightmares and the hurt caused by them especially when there's someone close to by to offer comfort afterward. A dream or series of them where first-season dark Marcus is whispering things in Tomas' ear would be good, too. Or possessed-Marcus does it when awake, and it can lead to some sort of seduction or not, dubconny in the no-no-yes vein or not (but no non-con). How would they deal with it afterward? Even a situation where it almost happens but doesn't is ripe for some great introspection and character/relationship stuff.
- I really like the idea of one or the other having those intense dreams where the other menaces them in the sexiest of ways, and each night the dreams escalate, and they start to have trouble separating reality from their dreams when they wake up so they might do or say things that would not be forward with the dream other but are unexpected in real life, and the one not affected has to suss out what's going on.
- If god could convince Marcus that loving someone and expressing that through sex wouldn't make him less an exorcist, that'd be really great. Tomas might point out that he'd know if that were evil with his newfound skills and all.
- Just about anything--post-exorcism conversation and comfort (I loved the bar scene at the end of season 1), navigating each other's spaces, a story about something they did together between S1 and S2, investigating the church.
- Any hurt/comfort scenario, expansion on any episode from either season, or any situation where one or the other is possessed and fighting it to keep from hurting the other and has to be exorcised. I truly love that stuff.
- A lighter story that involves Marcus teaching Tomas his ways, maybe with Tomas messing up quite a lot, and them not entirely exhausted all the time or in danger would be great, too. As long as there's obvious shippy affection between them, even if they're both fighting it, and lots of touching and standing far too close together, I'm down.
- I love Devon Bennett and his relationship to both of them. His relationship with Marcus especially is so affectionate he can't even hide it when he's furious or exasperated. More of that.(And honestly, I like him yelling at Marcus, so if you write him, let him give a good righteous well-earned holler at Marcus least once.)
- An episode-like plot where they have to exorcise someone and Bennett is there to help would be fantastic.
- Maybe post-show Marcus never leaves or goes back to Tomas (with or without Mouse) and together they find Bennett and save him. I know he's integrated but maybe he can be an exception and get saved. It can be done! I like the idea that in the course of an exorcism lots of Bennett's past with Marcus comes out and gets used against them like things said in anger or the demon trying to convince Marcus and Tomas things that aren't true like how Bennett feels about them or him sabotaging them with the church or something. It would also be difficult for Bennett because he has the memory of killing at least one person we know of in the hospital.
- Maybe Bennett, possessed and fighting it enough to function somewhat normally most of th time, joins them to help with something while they figure out how to save him from integration.
- Maybe pre-s2 ending Bennett's there to help save one of them, whether through an exorcism or some other scenario, like one kidnapped by the demonically possessed or trapped in a situation like the showdown with the demon inside Angela Rance. Any hurt scenario really, supernatural or not.
- Or either Tomas or Marcus hurt and in the hospital--I'm amazed most of the show wasn't one of them recuperating in a hospital bed, frankly--and Bennett is there comforting the other while they wait and just being a good friend (I love him, so anything he's in will be great).
Officer O'Leary & Officer Kyle Minogue, Officer O'Leary & Officer Kyle Minogue & Sergeant Maaka
This show is so much fun. I think it's a wonderful spin-off of What We Do in the Shadows, which is one of my favorite movies.
Any kind of paranormal case or everyday interactions between Minogue and O'Leary, or Minogue, O'Leary and Sergeant Maaka would be great. I love their friendship, and really how O'Leary seems to be the lead and Minogue defers to her a lot. And I love how hell can break loose and their reaction is to explain the situation calmly and say "we'd better do something about that, hadn't we?" Any casefic or just casual conversation about anything driving around in the car or in Maaka's office would work for me. If you have fun with them, so will I.
Wellington Paranormal-specific DNW: Please don't make O'Leary being a lesbian a point of comedy, like O'Leary talking about someone she likes and Minogue thinking maybe it's him or that kind of misunderstanding, or Minogue finally getting it and acting disappointed. Ack. Just let him be cool with it if you bring it in at all, and I would not be opposed to him trying to set her up with a sister, or pointing out that she deserves better than someone who is currently disappointing her in one of their car conversations, things along those lines.
- After exposure to some paranormal creature Minogue starts to grow a tail or horns some other bizarre thing. I can picture him trying to hide it at first and then revealing it, and O'Leary taking it in stride like, "Oh, well, that's not good, is it? No, it's not. Where will you find pants/a hat to fit? Tricky that," in the way they casually and hilariously deal with the most alarming things on the show. How do they solve the problem, or do they?
- They have to use a ouija board or some other device to try to contact someone who's passed on for information about a case? How crazily wrong could that go if they lose track of the letters and decipher the message incorrectly?
- One becomes psychic and drives the other crazy by constantly saying what will happen next, but only mundane things. Girl in the coffee shop's wearing purple today, before they get there, but not that someone naked is going to dash in front of their car, or something worth predicting.
- One gets possessed and the entity has messages show up on their skin or some other way, and they both keep interpreting the meanings wrong, but somehow fix it anyway. Or the possessed one keeps getting scolded by the others for being rude, pushy, nasty, whatever. O'Leary especially will not put up with that nonsense!
- They release a djinn or some other wish-granting entity and between them (whether the two or three of them) get three wishes. Through a comedy of errors or their special brand of simple goodness and incompetence, their wishes aren't going to be a million dollars, world peace and lifelong love. Does Minogue at least end up with a really good meat pie out of the deal?
- Minogue or Maaka gets abducted by aliens, and can't convince the others that anything truly amazing/frightening/monumental happened. O'Leary especially keeps finding rational explanations for everything.
- Officer Minogue accidentally makes a crossroads deal with a demon for something absolutely ridiculous (like a meat pie). How does O'Leary come to understand he's really sold his soul, and how do they manage to get the deal annulled?
- A skinwalker type creature appears as either of them insisting they're the real O'Leary/Minogue. How does the other discover which is the real one, and how silly does it get while they're trying to figure it out.
- Anything in the tone of the show, really. A case, a car conversation, something goofy in Maaka's office (like his making beeps with his mouth to pretend to have a better code on the door). Just make it weird in that Wellington way and I'll enjoy it!
